Evander Kane is finished, Earliest he'll be back in the lineup is December 3rd. What sane GM wants that trouble maker on their roster.

Why would we trade Drouin who's part of our best forward line for a player who should be in the KHL or retired, I'd also rather have Kulak and a 2nd over Miller, but you are right that having Edmunson and Price back would help "fix" the Habs

Pierre LeBrun just said that MTL is not interested in Strome at the moment and the team is not looking to make any trades. They rather tough it out and get out of this slump together.

To me that says the price for Strome is still pretty high. The habs have 3 3rds and 2 4th for if it only took a 3rd they would probably bite on it

Thats not Stromes value, you would likely have 31 teams prepared to pay that for him if it was.

I read he would be back 11/30 in time for game in NJ.
(Where, just so happens, betting on hockey is legal, supported, and advertised during NHL games)

Yeah you're right because his suspension started at the beginning of the season. I thought it was just beginning now 3 games in.

Am I the only one that expected this team to be terrible? They lost PD who a great 2 way center (2c). Maybe lacked on offense but was really solid imo. KK wasnt a bad loss I think he sucks but they completely over payed for Dvorak which I think was a killer. Should have saved those picks. In a normal year they wouldn’t have even been a playoff team last year (lol ironic)

I guess it’s hard to give up after making it to the cup but they aren’t built to win in the regular season. Great playoff team though

How are you the only one? They essentially don't have their #1 G, #1 C, # 3 C, #1 D, # 3 D right now. Like what? You're not nostradomus man everyone who's not delusional saw this coming.

Aggressive response. I guess your terminology threw me off when you said tough it out. I guess I assumed you were implying that wasn’t the plan and they were expecting much better results based off a fluke playoff run. Weird enough I think most fans were optimistic and expected them to be competitive. I agree that’s crazy bc I assumed they would be a lottery team. That’s why I’m baffled they traded those picks for Dvorak

Aggressive, no not at all. Blunt, yes lol. Tough it out was in reference to them being absolutely nowhere near good enough to compete. Not in a bubble, not in an all canadian division, not even in a division with Ottawa and Detroit.

As a habs fan that has been clamouring for a full scale rebuild since 2016, this scenario is playing out perfectly, and is truly the only way this organization will ever rebuild. If they become absolutely terrible for more than half a season and finally win one of these damn lotterys.

And yes, Dvorak was an overpay, but Bergevin was painted into a corner so imo he didn't make out that bad. But like I said, had he let KK walk and NOT done anything, this city would have burned itself down. Atleast now, those delusional homer fans can see this team for what it really is, and hopefully we trade Dvorak when he's a year or two out from UFA for atleast a 2nd, maybe a 1st.

Great time to be a lottery team. I believe there’s 4 A+ rated prospects in the next 2 years.

Last A+ rated prospect was MAtthews I believe. Hopefully they can win the lottery

Yeah I’m confused where the Habs stand. Last year I thought they should rebuild lol then they made it to the cup finals. I was very confused. I think rebuild would be the appropriate move at this points.

Bergevin has made many good deals in the past couple of years, but he should have over paid for Eichel and not Dvorak.
2022 first (the better of the two), 2022 second. 2023 first
Brook, Romanov, and Mysak.
Drouin and Byron for cap purposes.
Buffalo adds some low level prospects to balance the rosters.
The Dvorak trade was made on September 4, seven weeks ago. Jack would be skating getting ready to play before December.
They could not be doing any worse without Dvorak and by December they would have Jack.

I truly think 75% of the reason Berg went after Dvorak was because of his cap hit and term. Eichel is an outstanding player, but at 10mil, I just don't know
