Lmao.. sounds silly, but look at what Julien Brisebois gave up last year to get David SAVARD. That's all I am saying!

Once Price returns, ARZ could just claim him from waivers... But they won't.

1. He's better than Savard, and TB paid a 1st, 3rd and 4th (for retained salary). So yes.
2. NYI's pick will probably be ranked 30th+. It has similar value to a 2nd, like the TB pick last year.

The islanders are also in a situation where they have a few buried contracts. If the habs retain half on Chiarot and take hickey back the Islanders they islanders would be actually saving about 350 K (Hickey buried + sending down a league min roster player for Chiarot) Even more if they can find a 2nd retention team or the habs eat panik or Komarov.

Islanders definitely decline. They could get someone way better for that price

You have Samorukov ahead of Brobeg and Niemelainen?

I'd do a 3rd and 5th for Ben Chiarot at 50%. Same as what Antonio Brown got wink

He shouldn’t have him in front of Broberg, but definitely in front of Niemelainen. He’s good, but not as good as Samorukov. Teams wouldn’t give more than a fourth for Kulak… we should not give Samorukov.

that is one of the worst trades I've seen involving the oilers on here. We are not giving our 2nd best dman prospect for a guy who wouldn't even crack the team

In all due respect, there really aren't many other options available in terms of LHD pending UFA's who could be available at the deadline this year. Yandle likely stays in Philly if they're in the mix, Giordano was just named captain in Seattle, I highly doubt Toronto moves Rielly, Vegas likely keeps McNabb. So the other options are Lindholm, Leddy, Maata, Zadorov. Lindholm would be my choice to go after if I was a contending team.

Honestly haven't been overly impressed by Broberg and think Samorukov is the more promising Dman. Doesn't hurt he plays both sides as well. Niemelainen definitely behind both of those guys though.

I agree with almost everything you said. But I do think Giordano could be available as he isn't extended and I would go for Lindholm too. But at the price you just gave for Chiarot we aren't too far off to what those other guys will fetch... hell I'd call up Robin Salo before I paid that. I don't care what Tampa paid, they were a truly elite team that knew it was Cup bound. Isles are legit too. But they would spend assets more wisely

Fair enough. It’s all opinion based really, as I think Broberg is better. Samorukov is great and should be up next season, as Broberg should stay in the AHL. It’s better that Samorukov is better on the right side in the AHL, and hopefully he can transfer that to the NHL if needed, especially since we have Nurse, and Broberg on our left. With Bouchard and hopefully Samorukov in the future, that will make a good top 4.
