If Montreal can commit to sucking for long enough and land a top-5 pick, Simon Nemec looks like an outstanding grab. Jiricek is a hell of a consolation prize too.

Haven't scouted anyone not named Lambert, Wright, Savoie or some overagers but yeah, this draft class looks stacked

It's very top heavy but once you get past the top-8 it's not super impressive in my opinion, but I'm also not yet completely up to speed with this year's class.

Owen Power for Brandt Clarke + could be a fun one for the sabres.

I think though the sabres 2 later picks should be on RDs since there is a decent amount this year.

This draft has a decent amount of Dmen who are projected to go high, Nemec, Jiricek, Samuelsson, Chesley, Casey, Luneau, Mateychuk, Nelson, Forsmark, Bischel, etc

The Sabres need Miroshnichenko this year and Mitchkov next year.

Unless they luck into Wright, getting more dynamite wingers to play with Cozens and Krebs should be the primary target at the next two drafts. Peterka still strikes me as only a decent third-line piece.

I was thinking they go with Joakim Kemell. This kid is having a monster season in Liiga.

17 years old and has 12 goals and 6 assists playing against adults for JYP

Adding him makes other guys tradeable to further develop buffalo's rebuild.

My sad early prediction though is Lambert is gonna drop to being either a late 1st round or early 2nd round and become the latest draft steal.

I think enough prospects to come out of Liiga have faltered early enough to push Kemell to around the 5-8 range. Miroshnichenko's skating is really really good for a team that already drafted cinder-blocks-for-skates Quinn.

Likewise if Lambert really does bugger off to the WHL I think it saves his season outright, as I suspect his production would clock in above 2 points per game.
