Lou’s last two trade deadline moves addressed the teams needs perfectly - Lou overpays for what his team needs. They need a mobile LHD who can move the puck. Chiarot doesn’t fit that bill so I don’t even think Lou would take Chiarot if montreal adds a sweetener. They are either going to bring up their top D prospect Robin Salo or trade for someone like Lindholm, Gio, Lauzon, dermott etc..

Lauzon is a decent two way D who can skate well. That’s pretty much what the isles need.

Bunting and Kerfoot are literally Hyman type players lul. Kerfoot is a gritty guy on the PK while Hyman takes over the rest of Hymans roles and has so far done a fantastic job of it.

Bunting honestly has almost perfectly replaced Hyman everywhere but the PK (he doesnt pk) and only costs 950k. Hyman was nice but after a year or two that contract wont look good as hes gonna end up being another Lucic or Ladd where the injuries will catch up and hurt his game bad.

Steeves 99% probs getting a spot either after the OB or next season as he can play LW and would be a good bottom 6 option.

Rubins could be our #7 Dman next year, Menell mmm idk with him could be a call up option, Semyonov probs going back to the KHL or another team at the deadline, Robertson will either play next season or be traded in a package for something big. Ho-Sang should be on the team just need to wait and see as honestly I would say he takes Kase spot but Kampf-Kase has been a solid defensive duo. Once Mikheyev returns that 3rd line is going to be annoying to say the least. So maybe Ho-Sang takes Spezza's spot if he does not come back. Gonna be interesting this offseason

As for affording Campbell my guess rn are 2 deals 5mill x 5 years or 4.5mill x 4 years. If Dubas can move Richie (unless he rebounds) or Holl (unless he rebounds) should be able to do it. As with Kessel and the cap going up by a mill if everything goes up should be able to do so. Heck he may even take less than everyone is saying who knows

mmm Gio probs at the deadline would be when Seattle would want to move him. That could be to late for the Isles as the Metro will not be easy. Seattle may be more willing to move Lauzon now and rn the Isles need some help on D as Chara just aint NHL worthy every game
