Rather have Anderson than TT Drouin Hoffman Gallagher but if it’s the price too pay I guess that is fair. Bergevin already ****ed this team this offseason

Sammy-one-move-Girard isn't as good as everyone thinks. Every team in the NHL knows and defends against his spin-o-rama move plus if you think Drouin was a give away machine well then let me introduce you to Sammy Freaking Girard giveaway King! Mete 2.0 is actually what he is, ok offensively, gets pushed around his own zone and has one offensive move (other than turning the puck over).

Who cares about trading any of your forwards besides Suzuki and Caufield . Cuz there’s going to be real good forwards to get in free agency anyways. All the Palat and Hertl and Burakovsky etc

I think a trade based around Drouin for Girard is the way to go, my personal favourite at least.

Upgrade COL froward group and gives them a guy who can play 2C when Kadri inevitably gets suspended in the playoffs.

I hate this for Colorado. They exchange a very good contract for a lousy one.

The Girard to Montreal trades need to stop. It's just not there for these two teams.

Drouin is never happening. Drouin is not a Centre, he cant play that position. This makes 0 sense and that shot at kadri is pointless,

Drouin has almost zero value. I’m sure MTL would love to get a 23yo puck moving minute eating dman locked up for half a decade for a dude who left his team in the playoffs has a bigger cap hit than Drouin and is a defensive liability. Girard who isn’t going to get traded anyway is worth a ton, not an overrated over paid 2nd line guy that every MTL fan wants to link him to COL because they played juniors together almost a decade ago. As if they would move Rantanen or Landeskog off the top line. Ridiculous.

if mtl is in rebuild i would do this, Girard can qb a powerplay and is a puck mover, branstrom in Ottawa is very similar skillset. both make good first passes but knocked off the puck easy due to their size. I would take this trade as a habs fan. As much as i love Anderson.

But people need to make a realistic prediction on girards value. We seen the same thing with eichel, dvorak etc.. and then the return shows how far off everyone is with their over value

I don’t love Anderson long term but they definitely lost the physical battle to Vegas and he’d be a huge help there. Allen also gives more security in net.

Except Mete has never averaged 20+ minutes, never scored 20+ pts, never had shot metrics like Girard has multiple seasons. Mete has however been placed on waivers. I mean seriously you’re comparing Girard to Mete what a joke.

did you predict the eichle trade or the dvorak trade?.... everyone over valued them and the return looked nothing like what we predicted and everyone calling good values... not enough...no way...never happen...they hang up. You never know thats why we are not GMS

In a vacuum, the 2021 version of Josh Anderson looks pretty good on the Avs. But when you start adding up the other factors (high AAV, too much term, and too high a cost), it's a big no from me.

Eichel’s value was supremely hampered by the injury and his trade demand, BUF was never getting fair value. Girard isn’t on the market that is just false, is a young elite puck moving dman locked up on a long term team friendly contract. Dman regularly get trade for significant amounts I mean ffs the Avs got Saad for Zadorov, TB gave up a 1st and 3rd for a rental dman who isn’t nearly as good or locked up long term. CHI gave up 2 1st a 2nd and a top prospect for Jones then gave him a massive contract almost double Girard’s. Did CHI over pay imo yeah but Girard is every bit as good or better than Jones and the metrics bear that out. I mean this is all click bait stuff because why would COL trade Girard unless they got the haul they wanted because the kid’s contract is absolute gold and he is very very good.

anderson is a buyout waiting to happen. avs have been smart with the cap why do something like this and ruin it.

i agree on the backup but not at that cost.

his values was you are right but not on this site it wasnt. Very few on here would admit that when trade proposals were suggested
and again Savard trade no one would have predicted a 1st+3rd
Jones is >than girard everyone has an opinion and again as you said overpay , would no one predicts that haul for him

it depends on the end goal and as you state wehat Colorado wants
this trade addresses3 of the wants and needs of Colorado, the secondary scoring, toughness, and goalie depth at the expense of d-depth.

we don't have to agree the conversation is good, i see your points and hope you see mine agree or not

Only time I over valued an eichel trade was when I got tired of being bombarded by psycho sabres fans when I did a reasonable deal. He got pretty close to what u figured

There was a time last season when he was legitimately in the conversation, and not just from Avs fans. I don't think he'll ever be a Norris winner, but the guy is really, really good.

I think everyone on this site is getting sick of seeing Girard trades, and it kinda leads to statements about him being overrated, but I really feel the opposite is true. Dude has been in the shadow of Makar and before that Tyson Barrie. He has never had prolonged PP1 time but still produces. If he is traded, some team will be getting a gem.

Would Anderson be a last piece for a cup run though? I think they need another physical forward who can score and Anderson fits the bill. If it got them the cup you worry about the cap after.

that's fair. He is the new shinny piece everyone is talking about and i think that also drives the chatter in here in terms of value/de-value. I don't think he could be a true top 2 d-man in the role as a second pair he shines and can be great. Branstrom in ottawa has a similar build, similar ceiling and similar deficientcies. I see Girard farther along in his development of his skills making him a more expensive option to acquire. Girard has the added benefit of playing on a very good team. I see Byram passing him on the depth chart sooner rather than later
