As a Sabres fan, I think getting future considerations would really help our blueline, but giving up future considerations may be too much to stomach. I see where you're coming from though

If Vasilevskiy gets hurt or misses any time at all, the wheels fall off fast.
That bottom 6F group is very thin (especially considering Perry and Bellemare will both be 37 next season and the decline is coming)

While they may not be in cap hell, they're certainly in cap purgatory.

What happens in 2023-2024 when you have $22 million to resign Cirelli, Sergachev, Cernak, Killorn and fill out the remaining 7-8 roster spots?

We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Win now, worry later.

If there is one team in the league who could be considered in "cap hell" and should actually celebrate it, its Tampa.

Being in cap hell only sucks when you don't win.... The goal in the NHL is to win Stanley cups, not to be the cap envy of the entire league. No one hangs banners for signing their young core to cap friendly contracts....

      Who is "future considerations"?
Karmanos has already traded him away three times (Butcher, Boychuk and Subban).
How does Jason keep getting back?
