At least Chairot and Lehkonen can be useful the TBL backup goalie may be the most irrelevant position in all of sports. Vasy plays 60 games and pulls .750 point% or 90. 97 has never missed the playoffs so TB needs 7 points in 22games from it's backup most backup ECHL goalies could do that behind this team.

If Vas is injured, a good backup gives them a shot at competing for a cup at least until he's ready to go. Pittsburgh doesn't win back to back without Murray and Fleury. And ECHL goalie couldn't get Tampa to the final round. If Dwayne Roloson isn't injured game 1 against Carolina in 2006, EDM wouldn't have had to rely on Ty Conklin to try to win. So a good backup can make all the difference between a championship and none.

Chairot is a solid 5-6 guy Lehkonen is a responsible 3rd line energy guy. you can't pull ECHL guys to do what you need them to do.
