So we would give up Matt Roy, arguably our best defenseman this year who's on an excellent contract with term, to downgrade from him to Justin Holl just to acquire Nick Robertson, who wouldn't displace Alex Iafallo, Adrian Kempe or Trevor Moore in the lineup and doesn't have the anticipated potential of some of our own left-handed-forward prospects?

I don't think so.

You can't honestly think that's something LA would say yes to, right?

Yeah, Hagel's price is a lot more than that. The Hawks aren't trading him unless you meet their terms. Which I've heard is a 1st and an A prospect. There's no reason to trade away a difference maker, on a 3 year contract, for $1.5M a year, and an RFA at the end. AND Abruzzese is NOT an A prospect. It's debatable on whether or not he's a B prospect. Abruzzese is 22 years old and a sophomore in college playing against kids. Hagel is 23 and a difference maker in the NHL!

absolutly not enough for Hagel. All that 2nd gets you is dumping Ritche. If you want Hagel it's probably one of Robertson/Amirov/Knies + 2022 1st

So if the Hawks have already turned down offers for Hagel of a 1st round pick and good prospect, why would they take this offer?

If that's the price, then you can keep him. CHI can ask whatever they want, can't see them getting that kind of return though.
