Canucks probably decline. They are thin at RHD and Myers has been good since Boudreau took over

Van and Buf decline the second one, and a 2nd is an overpay for a redundant player in Barrie to the likes of Dahlin, Power, and to some extent Joki.

Oilers won’t send Barrie to Buffalo. Haha will credit you for showing some positive value in the trade which is rather unique on this site but don’t see it happening.

Pass on both but thanks for trying. LA has plethora of RHD. Walker or Roy will have to be traded. I'd target one of those guys

I wouldn't be opposed if they got a return like that. Turn around and acquire someone like Braun to fill out the rest of the season on the RHS. Helps the cap situation going forward as well. Have a little more cap room this season and still have the 1st rounder to acquire another LD and/or G.

You are both most likely correct.
I have seen many trades by VAN trading Myers for even less.
But this particular one was posted by @Wqrrior https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/554512
Many Sabre fans would not want to make this trade, but in this line up Tyler would be the Sabres best RHD.

Buffalo pass both trades.
I know most Sabre fans really dislike Myers, he along with Subban and Barrie would be huge upgrade over our current RHD.
Considering, only six teams have given up more goals and one team has more shots against, the defense needs huge improvement.
I know everyone hates Subban (James Norris Trophy), Myers (Calder Memorial Trophy) and Barrie (led all defensemen with 45 pts last year) they are solid second pairing defensemen which would give great depth to the team.

trade for Barrie and then scratch him, why not just avoid that trade? LOL it does look strange, it would be nice if Buffalo's 7th D-man led the NHL in scoring just last year?

I am one of the few ACGM who would like to have Barrie on the Sabres, in this line up he is the 7th D-man giving the team depth and flexibility.

I’ll be honest.... I hate Phil Kessel waaaay more than the Subban signing LOL, OK fine, but he has two rings, and can still put up points, can you imagine the RW depth with him, Tage, Alex and Jack?
I think the team needs a GK, but the trades (Myers and Barrie), rookies (Power and Quinn), free agents (Subban and Kessel) and improved play from Krebs, Cozens, Asplund could make this a 90 point team.
I could take away the Myers trade, plug in Laaksonen as the bottom pairing RHD, not sign Kessel and keep Okposo for his locker room influence.
If they could sign Kuemper or Campbell to play GK, it would be a very good team.

Bottom line, thank you for your comments.
Great to get actual positive feed back.

Unlike some other oilers fans i don’t see the organization moving Barrie anytime soon. Think that’s a drastic approach to solve a problem that’s been fading away under the new coach. Holland isn’t known for moving players one year into a multi year extension that he signed. If that was the case would kass still be an oiler today? Oilers have no internal depth on the right side so it really hurts the team in the short term which obviously not the direction they want to go in. Value wise if he did become available I personally think this site is way way way off on his value. Remember how people viewed risto a year ago thinking negative value and ended up with a first? Barrie costs less and has term and led all d in points just last year. I appreciate that you at least showed some positive value but in reality don’t think it’s really even close to what gms would be willing to give for a guy with his pedigree.

I think this is the best route for what you're cooking up here. That last trade in your list, Okposo for Myers, is just one move too many - both guys aren't meeting their salaries in terms of production, but Okposo only has 1 more year at $6M while Myers would have 2. Plus, with your Barrie trade, you've got a very nice RD lineup there and can sign a depth guy like Brandon Davidson or something to be your 7th D, not sign Kessel, and leave Okposo as RW4.

Why do I nearly always get the best feed back from ACGM's who follow other teams?
Your advice is excellent.
My goal was to add three 2nd pairing defensemen for at least the next two years and only have to give up a depth player (Ruotsalainen), second and Okposo.
In reality Barrie will cost more, it is unlikely Subban or Kessel would sign with Buffalo and Okposo (as you may have noticed last night) is actually quite good.
Regardless it is all for fun, and unlikely Buffalo will sign any UFA of consequence.
Again thank you very much for your comment.
