i see you're an Isles fan so I assume you don't follow either team - which is fair. however, Gallagher cannot and will not fetch that return. he is just too brittle at this stage and is in year 1 of a bad, long, contract.

Not for that offer, And it's a 23 man roster not 20. So technically you'd be over the cap. You can't just add a $6,000,000 contract and not send back similar money when you only have 700,000 in cap space at the trade deadline to work with.

I'm not convinced that Edmonton would trade that package for Nick Suzuki.

Now, Barrie and Koskinen for Gallagher with at least 25% retention might be an idea.

I would have loved gallagher of 6-7 years ago when he had plenty of miles left in him but at this point feels like a ticking time bomb with a long term big money deal. Respect the player and everything he’s done but an extremely risky add. That’s pretending oilers could get him without giving up anything of true value.
