No we aren't taking on Joel edmundson or trading kaprizov's Russian safety net in dimitri who has been amazing as a 5d and good d prospect

It’s closer than most post, but none of those assets get Schneider.

jenik is easily the most valuable piece in that trade, and i dont see why arizona would want to offload him for armia and kulak while they're going into what is basically a franchise rebuild

That's quite the haul for the Rangers and we'd still at least be able to play Nils Lundkvist at 3RD next season. But I just don't expect the Jones-Schneider pairing to be separated yet.

Two first trade are unrealistic and counterproductive. Even if the value can be somehow fair, Dvorak and Petry will be dealt for future assets (even if the assets is basically just capspace), Both Pageau and Miller do not help the team to get better in the short, mid and longterm. Schneider and Mukhamadulin are both out of question no matter how you tweak your trades. It would take some real star power going the other way for the rangers or the devils to give up on them and neither of Chiarot, Lehkonen and Savard are worth it. You can maybe get 1st round picks for Chiarot and Lehkonen or quality prospects like the toffoli trade but not top prospects.

Buf do not seem to have cap complication at all for the next 5 yrs. Isn't that bad to have someone to bring you to cap floor?

So Kravtsov and Lundkvist would be closer to reality?

That Islanders trade is interesting but I'm not sure where to go with it. Moving Pageau would move Cizikas up to 3C, where I think he could actually rebound back to his previous production levels without having to be the "identity line" guy, and we can finally move on from that as a team. But JGP for Dvorak feels like not enough if it's one-for-one, so maybe Montreal adds something. If I'm the Islanders GM, I want to get a prospect that's either a LHD, or a young center we can let grow into a 2/3C role a few years down the line. I know the guys at the top of the Habs' system (Guhle/Harris/Mysak) are going to be too rich for it, so I'd aim a little lower at Riley Kidney or Jayden Struble to tack onto this, and then it's a deal.

I wouldn't even trade Kulikov straight up for Edmundson, let alone add a good prospect like O'Rourke.

Kulikov is 1,25 million cheaper while not being worse than Edmundson.

Same Kulikov is cheaper, has 1 less year, and not on IR. He just fits better with the cap.

Edmundson is the better player.

They'd rather add someone closer to the age of their young core, or just add dead cap

probably not, just dont think they would have any interest in moving arguably their best prospect outside of guenther unless theyre getting premium value for him

Probably, I still would refuse that offer if I was Drury. It's sad but I think we will be pretty disappointed by the return for Chiarot the way he played this season. Hughes will have to do one hell of a job remembering other GM's how well he played last summer. Lehkonen have good value but he's still lehkonen, everyone talks about the Coleman deal but Coleman was a much more productive scorer also with elite defense. Would not be surprise if after both departure we end up with maximum a late late 1st, a 2nd and a B prospect.

Is Petry an upgrade over Miller? if you look over their careers then yes but this year Petry is not an upgrade over dog dodo he has stunk on ice and he costs almost twice what Miller does - now his play this year might be an aberration or part of a cruel experiment to turn a cup challenger just one year ago into this inept historically bad team - Petry is 34, do the Sabres get a guarantee that for the next 3 seasons he can be at least 90% of what he was the previous 3 seasons before this year's abortion? maybe he has skated over the age cliff, not everyone can be Ovechkin, no I think I'd rather get a draft pick for a retained Miller than to take a 6.25 mil chance on Petry.
