this is an obvious no. habs couldn't get a top prospect for toffoli i wouldnt expect one for chiarot.

Doubtful the AVs would move Barron for Giroux, They sure as heck aren't moving him for Chiarot.

Not every cap dump requires inflating the trade. Especially an expiring contract to offset salary when the offer is already good value.

Murray isnt a cap dump, hes still a decent player at the correct cap hit. Another fan writing hes a cap dump doesnt make it so.

COL wouldn’t give you even the 5th for Chiarot, dude is a straight traffic pylon. MTL fans are looney, NHL teams have metric departments. Lyubushkin is better than Chiarot AZ got a future 2nd for him and Dzingel and took on a cap dump there is your template for Chiarot because this here is absolute nonsense. And don’t come at me with well it was reported by such and such, because if a team had come close to offering a 1st rd pick he would have been long gone.

I’d rather have Murray than Chiarot, dude is straight awful. MTL fans have serious obsession with some Avs players and prospects. Irrational obsession.

me too, I would play Jack Johnson over Chiarot...he cant skate, he cant pass, he can exit his zone, he got hype for the playoffs last years bc he got away with a lot of cross checking in his own zone and was labelled a warrior.

Chiarot is pretty awful. 31 other fan bases all agree on that

Didn't mean to imply he was. That was OP's determination, I was just speaking generally. I prefer to refer to players that are included only for cap purposes as offsets when they don't impact the value of a trade one way or another.

my comment was more directed at the OP as well, bc of the label in the description.
I agree, bc when people say cap dump on this site they just automatically make that player now worthless or with negative value. Would Murray be needed in a trade for cap reasons, probably, is Murray bad with 0 value around the league, absolutely not.

If a team did take him on bc for cap reasons, they could easily flip him for a positive asset. Big different in "Cap Dump" vs "Cap reasons" like you mentioned
