Description
Long story shorts Jets will have to retool and I believe they need to move on from a few core players to be exact. Morrisey is one of them, I got this trade idea from a ducks fan.

I really dont like this from ANA's perspective. That seems like way too much for Morrissey. his contract is very scary - it looks like his underlying stats have bounced back this year but I dont know if I trust that to continue over the next 6.5 years. Theres Vlasic-like bad contract potential here imo

He'll be turning 33 at the end of his last season. I don't think that's too old for a quality defenseman in the NHL. It's not like it's a Vlasic or Petry or even Karlsson contract.

The thing is he hasnt been a quality defenseman. Hes been very ristolainen-like for the past couple seasons, but found his groove again this season I guess. I just wouldnt risk it

This was from last year but shows his WAR percentile from 18-19 to 20-21, and none of them are good:

Terrible for the Jets, you can tell the idea was from a Ducks fan.

That’s what happens when you get put in charge of an AHL quality defense group. Poor guy hasn’t had a stable partner since trouba left. I was down on Morrissey last year, but this year looks unreal. He’s also been dealing with some awful personal stuff. Dad passed last year, been sick for a while. That’s what a lot of people, myself included forget about these players. They’re dealing with personal matters like the rest of us. I was very down on Morrissey last year, but he’s been awesome this year and has future captain written all over him. He’s the perfect #2 dman.

I feel like I was chevy I would consider it idk tbh he's a top 4 d that can be good but his past makes it seem like he should be traded I feel like this would be next year if it's the same as this

He’s the perfect #2 dman. If you have a bonafide 1RD Morrissey is exactly what you’d want. Good everywhere. Sucks that he had 2 real down years that ruined his analytics. Not to mention all of the stuff he was dealing with away from the rink.

No chance we move our 1st. Bad trade partners IMO as we are also mid rebuild, despite the mild success we've had this season.
