i think Drouin has + value like a 2nd at 50%.... Mrázek has negative value like 2nd to dump. imo Leafs should just pay to dump him bc they cant really afford to waste money on players / positions that they are already deep at

No way this will happen. Even though Drouin is overrated, he still has more value than Mrazek. And Habs already have at least 2 goalies under contract for next year. And Also Primeau and Montembault are in the organization

In my scenerio, the Habs will be trading Price in the off season as well, full rebuild for them.



Price is a goner, Allen is the Habs version of Mrazek, and those 2 are maxed out as Ahler's.

Toronto will have to bite the bullet and buy Mrazek out. No one is taking that horrid contract without a major sweetener like Robertson or Niemela.

Drouin I would say is a negative value player because he is LTIR for the majority of his carreer.

Habs decline. Also, they aren't rebuilding and I don't think Price is going anywhere unless he's bought out.

I know this is only an example, but Drouin isn't a bad contract. You should be looking at buying a player with term that you want and wrapping Mrazek into the deal.

Failing that, any warm body with similar or less cap and term. Doesn't matter if it's the worst player in the league.
Last resort is admitting to the mistake and paying to offload him. Which is probably a better option than keeping him.

Imagine is Dubas had faith in Campbell as a starter and faith in his Ahler's to step up if needed and he had signed a cheap but proven backup goalie for under $1.5 million, that would have given him $2 million more to play with this year.

Even all the Dubas followers have to admit he takes a big L on that signing. Same for that Ritchie signing, he should have just stuck with that Bunting signing last summer. Easily Dubas missed managed $4 million with those 2 big contracts.

Instead of a buyout or trade, Mrazrek is waived to Marlies this year, and Campbell and Kallgren are the Leafs.
Campbell is gone next season as UFA. Kallgren, and Mrzarek has a chance to be a NHL goalie again....or a Marlie

Price on the trade market in the summer would be interesting. Teams would be interested, even if they don't like the $10 million cap hit (I won't imagine the Habs agreeing to doing a %50 retain, maybe a 25% retain at the most).

You don’t have any clue of what you’re talking about. First Price was practicing with is teammates this morning and will likely be playing is first game early april. Second Price never had a alcohol problem, that’s was made clear earlier this year in a press conference that is substance abuse was not alcohol or cocaine like many ignorant out there rumored about it. I personally think that he was addicted to pain killer since he had is share of injuries in the past couple of year. Also Stephane Waite who was pretty close to him also came out to say it was not alcohol since Carey Price don’t drink anymore. Thats was a stupid assumption to make and clearly just a guy’s who just want to start inflaming on a delicate subject. Be smarter.

Price is practicing with the team again. He will play again. Mrazek is terrible. You can’t call someone an nhl goaltender if they don’t even know where the posts are. He’s a human highlight reel of blunders. Seriously, some of those goals are hilarious, and hes getting paid 3.8 mil to do it. I wouldn’t touch that contract with a ten foot pole. Drouin at least has some value, and if hes on ltir you can get money back. You can’t even do that with mrazek’s contract
