Tough to answer as he’s a late bloomer. Also I don’t think he’s being moved. To answer your question at the current moment, I would say a 3rd. If it was at TDL, upgrade to a 2nd.

Don't think SJ has an asset the Habs would want in return that they'd be willing to trade for Evans.

He’s 25, doesn’t produce a ton. I’d be willing to give up a 4th at most for him. But at that point Montreal might as well keep him, they are going to want much more for him even if he isn’t worth it.

I think he has a lot of potential. He was really held back under Ducharme's system, like Caufield he's coming out of his funk.

Balcers for Poehling and a 5th
Evans we need especially with Paul Byrons replacement Rem Pitlick here
Pitlick-Evans has been a great 3rd line pairing with whatever RW they play with

Poehling is odd man out in MSL system
Schnarr had 1 year where his offense spiked off the charts
It was when one of our Prospects Hillis went down resulting in a trade for Suzuki to replace him
Schnarr is Poehling but 25-30lbs lighter and way more mobile as a consistent goal scoring Center
Poehling hasnt fit in here but he could in SJS

Balcers Here could be great beside Dvorak i believe
He needs a creative playmaker and thats balcers
That said he's a waiver pick up who hasnt played any better
Not since being waived by last years worst team
I cant expect his value like his offense being much different then Poehling
    Even if their roles are

It's probably weird because he's a 4th liner not anything special. Fair value would be around a mid 3rd. Thing is I don't think Habs would trade him for fair value, let alone trade him at all.

I could see a third being a realistic return. He has that kind of playstyle that GMs over-value, but a fourth would be his minimum value imo.

    I'd do that
Balcers has the potential to complete a top PP line

As much as Poehling isnt a fit here he's still finding ways to have a good first real season
He's just not what we need. In SJS put him with Lebanc and Weatherby which gives them a big line that can win faceoffs in all 3 zone's
Poehling Solid with OZ/NZ faceoffs issue being bottom 6 is primarily for DZ faceoffs where he sucks
Weatherby has faired quite well in SJS bottom 6 adding Size adding hits and Blocked shots as a solid DZ guy
He'll play in the NHL but i agree a 2nd is probably needed as he's got no top 6 upside like Balcers

At $1.5 mil Balcers has great upside. He hasn’t been put on the pp because the coach is stupid. He’s been killing penalties though and when he’s been in the lineup consistently he has been good. Has had some injuries that have knocked him out but nothing serious.

Evans has 9 points in 20 under Ducharme with 51.68% Faceoff numbers
In his last 5 he has 2 goals and 3 points

Most Important since Pitlick's been paired with him when MSL took over
5 goals ,14 points and 56.5% Faceoff win rate from Wing supporting evans
Ideal 3rd line and if they find a RW to click with hopefully Ylonen then we are set

No upside in trading one of MSL go to lines
Especially if you're looking to re-sign Pitlick who's for the first time all Season got a regular Center
MSL has relied on them Heavily on PK Unit Especially

100% agreed its why im after him
Besides Suzuki-Caufield he just feels like our Glenn Anderson (EDM and NYR he was Messier's Winger and usually #3 on his line but racked up points/cups

Not saying that trading him is the way to go just stating what I think his value would be if made available.
