Goaltending is absolutely abysmal.

Detroit would take Morrissey for a 2nd... He fits Detroits future way more than Schmidt does. Hard to move a guy with a NTC with a larger contract... likely wouldnt go to anyone with room for that fact that they arent good.

Not enough for Appleton or Svechnikov and to much for Comrie
Won’t get that much for Scheifele with how he’s playing… Schneider+1st+prospect is fair, though NYR fans will say otherwise.
Not moving Hellebuyck or Morrissey until we have to due to contract ending, cap need, or replacement by a better option.. and Morrissey would return a lot more than this
The rest of the trades work.
Any team with that goaltending is doomed. Comrie is not a starter.
GET BARRON OFF THE WING AND PUT HIM AT C WHERE HE BELONGS
The lineups and pairings suck

Sure… and with that valuing…WPG will take Seider for 2 2nds + a 3rd

edmonton doesnt have that much forward depth without those 2 guys. They can't afford to trade them. I am not sure i want hellebuyk at that cap hit, he has kind of funny mechanics in his saves and I could see him regressing. He is essentially a lot like mike smith when he was younger.

It's pointless to give away Wheeler for nothing if the Jets are retaining as they would end up paying as much or more than Wheeler's cap hit and have a worse player.

The firsts are real nice but an elite goaltender like Hellebuyck is way too hard to find. Doesn't anyone remember the Pavelec days?

Why would the Jets throw away a top pairing defenseman for a 2nd?

If you're trading Hellebuyck and Morrissey, you're rebuilding and you'r enot keeping Connor and Ehlers.

Ok but with the prospects Detroit has they only need a stop gap to play a season or 2. So a 3rd for Schmidt makes sense if Winnipeg wants more there are other D they can target.

My problem here is that there is no real direction. I cannot tell if you're trying to rebuild or contend. Signing Dubois at an 8x$8 is a massive overpay. As an Oilers fan I don't mind the Helleybuyck trade but I feel like it's a bit of an overpay.

You'd have a better chance getting Trouba back than Schneider.

Too much for Schmidt from a Detroit perspective... he's probably our plan B or C on the trade market as it is and there are other better options we could get for just a 3rd likely. With that said, I wouldn't be mad about that value, but I don't think he'll return more than just a 3rd.

Nate Schmidt will be 31 years old making $5,950,000 x 3 years i wouldn't give up more than a 3rd rounder for him. He's probably option C or D anyways after Marcus Pettersson or Alec Martinez.

I don’t think there’s a deal to be made between the Jets and Rangers for Schiefele at all.
