If I'm signing Bratt and Gaudreau to those contracts I'm trying to move Woods out for some picks. A friend of mine in Calgary wants to know what the income tax rate is in Jersey.....

Can't see Hughes signing 8x8 after seeing gaudreau getting 7x10. He'd probably take a 3x6 or 4x7 bridge deal.

Sucks for Hughes then haha. He signed his contract already. I’m guessing you mean Bratt…

This team is too top heavy too early in the rebuild with that contract.

Nope. Didn't see the Hughes signing. Or just don't remember it. Should've taken a bridge deal. Could've made a lot more!

Hard hard hard pass on JG anywhere near 10M.

Bratt won't get that much.

He was born in New Jersey so this would be him "going home" but I think he grew up a Flyers fan? idk they can have him lol

Smart move by Tom Fitzgerald to sign Hughes before he broke out

Ya, but that would be like assuming someone is a habs fan because they grew up in Gatineau. He grew up like 2 minutes from philly and a couple hours from Newark. Going home is 100% philly.

Kind of a moot point in this scenario, but four years isn’t a bridge. Coming off a standard ELC that walks a player right to UFA without buying out UFA years. That’s why teams never even offer those deals.

There are three wingers on $10m+ deals

Panarin
Kane
Marner

Kane had won two cups already, Marner got 6-years.

I think Gaudreau ends up closer to $7.75m to $8.5m over 7 years. Bratt between $6.75m and $7.25m for 6-7 years.

And the lines? Bastian in 1st? Siegenthaler on 3rd pair? Sharangovich on 4th? Holtz still in AHL?

When was the last time a 100+ point player hit free agency? The closest you’re going to get is panarin. Look what he got.

There's no way Gaudreau signs for less than 9m.

That's less than Skinner got. For a guy who's scoring 100+ points this year.

That man is getting 8 figures if he heads to free agency.

We said the same about Taylor Hall. He got 1-year x $8m, then 6x$6m.

Panarin didn’t have two recent seasons like Gaudreau’s 2019-20 and 2020-21.

Go for one, if not more of the "second tier" wingers in FA. Hughes and Hischier are doing well just need some stocky power fwd types who need to be fed by good C's

At the time Skinner was signed, he was younger and we thought it would be 8-years of a rising cap.

Now nobody can count on rising salary cap.
