Bruins decline. Don't need either player, let alone at that price.

I think timing works well for oilers too as jarry would still have a yr left and once his deal is up, oil will get massive cap relief via keith, dead cap reliefs, bad money being moved out, etc and could open the door to resigning Kane and JP which would be very interesting especially with several prospects really surprising this yr in savoie, bourgeult, petrov, and beryshyn

Calgary laugh The whole reasoning on dealing Monahan is so that Calgary can comfortably afford to sign both Gaudreau and Tkachuk. Zucker and Kapanen combined will exceed his salary so Calgary declines. Very doubtful that both Gaudreau and Klingberg sign with Pittsburgh both will want far more then what you're offer if you're not offering full term. Detroit accepts.

I guess I am the MOST OPTIMISTIC Sabre fan ever.
Since the beginning of March the Sabres are 13-8-3 (incidentally the Penguins are 10-9-3 during that same period), over 82 games that is 99 points.
I find it difficult to imagine adding Marino, Power, Peterka and Quinn the team would do worse over an entire season.
I would make this trade with the condition that it is top 10 protected, which could be a moot issue if the Sabres made the playoffs.

I agree they have been better but I am thinking if there is a 0.05% chance that pick is in the top 3 that automatically becomes one of the worst trades in sabres history lol

That is EXACTLY what Harrington called the O'Reilly trade.
I should have been more clear, "I would make this trade with the condition that it is top 10 protected".

Oh sorry I agree I would do it if it was top 10 protected. I just have been a fan of this team long enough to know if it wasnt that somehow the hockey gods would turn that pick into bedard lol. Harrington is an idiot, I am blocked by him so I dont see his tweets anymore lol

I met Lance Lysowski at the prospect challenge.
When he told me with whom he work, I commented "Great now that Gleason, Sullivan and Vogl are gone the News only needed to get rid of Harrington." He laughed!
I love reading Lance's articles, very inciteful and full of facts.
The fact that my family is both Polish and moved to Buffalo from Pittsburgh certainly made it easy for me to like him.
You should wear your blockage by Harrington as a badge of honor.
I have been disappointed more times than you my friend, I had seats in the gold four rows back their second year.
I am really exited as it appears Jason Karmanos is engineering the trades and Jeramiah Crowe is directing the drafts.
Add an above average RHD and GK and this team could make the playoffs, one of Boston or Washington will miss it next year.
If Bergeron retires, I cannot see the Bruins in the hunt.
Without Ovechkin the Caps are toast. He had two goals and an assist last night in a loss to the Knights.

Hate to break it to ya, but that pick's gonna be between 13 and 19. Sabres should and would make that trade.

With Marino, they wouldn't finish lower than 10, which would give them about a 3% chance of moving up. It also gives them a 100% chance of having Marino.

The demons have been exorcized. The hockey gods are appeased. Everything's coming up Milhous.

But to your point, let's say it's top two protected and throw in a Sabres 5th and I think it evens out.

Son, I've watched this team since your old man was a kid. It's time to stop thinking like a loser and do some realistic risk assessment.

Current Sabres roster plus Marino doesn't get a top two pick. Pessimism is not the same as wisdom.
