If jets commit to a full rebuild I’m sure they say yes. If they’re still attempting to just shake it up you may get a different answer.

Dubois is untouchable, he won't be moved. Value wise the first is nice, but there would need to be a better add than Dvorak to make up the difference between the first and Dubois. The odds of that first ever becoming as good as Dubois are about 1 in 10, give or take.

Montreal simply doesn't have the assets to entice Winnipeg to talk.

Beniers looks solid over a short window, not sure of the moving on from Suzuki to fill the hole with Dubois. Both Suzuki and Dubois basically perfect 1b, or top end 2c. For the right prices I would try them both and load up on the wings and blueline. Kind of like the hawks prime. Solid centers and high scoring wingers and stacked blueline.

Wright will be better than dubois within 2 years

Dubois has 78 points in 118 games played over 2 seasons (0.66 ppg), regularly skating with better talent than Suzuki's (0.73 ppg during same span) been afforded over that span. His career high is 61 points. Why do some Habs fans want him so desperately?? Wright will put up similar numbers to Dubois sooner than later, if indeed that pick is the 1 OA, and it won't cost you any assets.

If Winnipeg fans think that Dubois is worth the first overall ++, they need to revisit that.

To be clear, I like Dubois. He's a talented young C with size and an asset to any organization he's part of. He's just not worth the 1 OA, especially when the organization giving up that pick is in a full rebuild and in no position to sacrifice any assets.

I never said the Habs would do this. I was calling out the fact that saying Winnipeg declines is stupid. A slight downgrade at 2C and a future high end 1C is a stupid trade for the Habs to offer, and it’s even stupider to say that Winnipeg wouldn’t immediately accept. You could literally add Winnipeg’s 1st and they would still immediately accept.

Yeah I don't really get how people think the Jets wouldn't accept this in a second. I really like PLD a lot and he has been one of the best players on the team this year for sure, but in my opinion you only trade 1oa picks for players who are still younger and are top 5 at their position, or at least very close. Players like McDavid, Mackinnon, Matthews Makar, Fox, those are the players that you consider giving up 1 oa for.
