Because a lot of players are still part of the NHL playoffs and guys like Zach Werenski, Cole Caufield, etc declined to play

Mikael Pyyhtia is signing his ELC with CBJ. They've been doing good recently with getting guys like Marchenko, Johnson, Blankenburg to sign

Alright got around to updating my NHL draft spreadsheet, here are the top 10 2020 drafted players so far:

1. Tim Stützle
2. Alexis Lafreniere
3. Anton Lundell
4. Jamie Drysdale
5. Seth Jarvis
6. Lucas Raymond
7. Dawson Mercer
8. Nicolas Daws
9. Braden Schneider
10. Quinton Byfield

More or less useless information at this point since this whole draft has less than a 1000 games among them.

Hughes Boeser Garland and Demko are all not going. I would have liked to see the 3 Hughes bros play together in the tournament

Today GM Tom Fitzgerald said he is open moving the Devils first round pick (projected 5th overall currently) for a immediate impact player

Does anyone have any trade ideas on what the Devils can bring in for that pick? Right now Im imaging a guy like Fiala caliber but hopefully there is a goalie the Devils could trade for with that value

Fiala is probably the only guy available worth that high of a pick (and I’ve done a lot of looking because the Sens need a high end winger too lol, and are in a similar range with projected 7oa). Guys like Konecny, Boeser, Garland, etc. might get moved, but probably not for that much (unless it was like 5oa + prospect for player + later 1st). Not sure there’s a goalie out there worth that, most teams with an elite young goalie tend to hold onto them. You might be able to get Varlamov for cheap if you still believe in Blackwood, or buy low on Samsonov and have him and Blackwood fight it out.

1st + Holtz + Ty smith for Matthew Tkachuk

1st for Fiala and a 3rd rd pick.

1st + Zacha for Hoglander and Boeser
