Jeff Marek trade proposal

Created by: hockeyfan12
Team: 2022-23 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: May 11, 2022
Published: May 11, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Jeff Marek propose straight up: Arizona first in 2022 and 2023 for Montreal 1st overall pick
This is non sense to me so I try something; what do you think? I mean, Arizona need players under contract that can play right away, they would have two (Wright and Ylonen), a good prospect in Mailloux, Weber's contract (they've been interested for a while) and Florida's unprotected first.
Trades
MTL
  1. 2022 1st round pick (ARI)
  2. 2023 1st round pick (ARI)
Additional Details:
To recap
Arizona 1st this year (3rd overall)
Arizona 1st next year (2023)
vs
Weber contract
Logan Mailloux (A prospect)
Jesse Ylonen (B prospect, can play this year)
1st overall pick this year (Shane Wright)
Florida's pick next year
Something more?
ARI
  1. Mailloux, Logan [Reserve List]
  2. Weber, Shea
  3. Ylönen, Jesse
  4. 2022 1st round pick (MTL)
  5. 2023 1st round pick (FLA)

Arizona declines easily. No chance they are giving up their chance at Bedard/Michkov

I laugh a little hearing Mailloux is an "A" prospect.

There was pretty much no GMs willing to take a flyer on this guy at the draft given his past.
Was suspended indefinitely from OHL and only played 12 OHL games this year (which obviously hurts his development).
what part of this is the "A" level prospect part?

IF ARI 2023 1st is unprotected, I would take the deal (not your deal listed above but switching picks) as MTL.

1) You still get a good player this draft at #3.

2) Good chance ARI sucks again next season, as well as MTL, which gives you two good chances to drafted 1 (or maybe both) of Bedard or Michkov, who are much better than Wright.

Arizona doesn't do it. MTL would walk away with three elite pieces, laughing the entire way.

7 gms were going to draft Logan in the 2nd round. I saw him play 4 times this year. Mark Hunter the London GM and former nhl player has said Logan will play 10 years in the nhl. He’s a very good player.

list the seven GMs and the source
as for the mark hunter comment, what would you expect him to say about a current london knights player? lol

Much like the Habs, Arizona shouldn't be trading their first pick for tat least the next 3 years.

AZ isn't trying to accelerate their rebuild when they don't even have an arena to play in. This is an overpay, for AZ anyway.

I’ve scouted & coached since 1992, in the O & Q. If you think I’m going to give you their cell phone numbers or if you can’t see Logan’s upside, then instead of arguing or mocking people online just wait. Time will tell, it always does. I come on here to have fun and nothing else. Have a great day!

He didn't ask for their contact information, he asked for their names which would not implicate you in any crimes. Honestly you seem full of you know what.

I told my wife, watch the comments that will come back. Not everyone on here is a teenager (not implying you), some of us actually made a living from hockey. It actually gets tiresome to put up with the immaturity of some online people.

My wife was cooking a meal for Ryan O’Reilly that was one of many players in my summer camps and he said do some teaching to these people online. Maybe they can learn something. My youngest suggested Reddit. So I did. It went well for 21 days until the hatters and mockers showed up. I just shut down my account.

Last year I watched every Laval Rocket game and I listed Corey schueneman above Xavier Ouellet on capfriendly and RDS and I got roasted and mocked. So it gets frustrating. I haven’t returned to RDS and just recently returned to capfriendly. The hate online is sad to see and a direct reflection of the character of those doing the mocking.

I never said I was a good scout. I said I was a paid one. But your immaturity showed up in your post. Goodbye blocked.

But you do understand that telling people on a fan GM site that you were a scout does come off as false. Not saying you weren't a scout. I just followed McRanteskog in the desire to know who else was taking Mailloux in the 2nd as I like he/she/they like sources to go with statements.

As a scout/former scout, what do you think about Ned Coletti scouting for SJS?

I’ve never met him and know very little about him. I know he was involved in baseball. So not sure, if you are wondering how he will do in hockey. Now you might think I’m name dropping again but Roger Neilson was a very good friend of mine and I did over a dozen camps with him. His start in coaching was not in hockey. So people can cross over.

I know there are plenty of liars online but with God as my witness I was heavily involved in hockey and was paid to do it. I used to use my real name online but some people called the team I was working for and were rude and annoying to the OHL team. I still enjoy the game and do contract work. I could be full time but my wife and I enjoy Florida too much in the winters. I have nothing to gain on here. I’m not selling anything, not asking for money, not arguing or making fun of anyone.

I grew up a Habs fan from my dad & grandad. A few of my friends played for Habs & they would also like to come on capfriendly but they also get mocked. One of them won the cup in 93 and he got mocked. He lasted 3 days on here. So it is what it is.

HFBoards is a decent place to find relatively mature conversation but as with all sports communities online people get impassioned and emotional. My only beef with CapFriendly is the lack of a DM system, I think a lot of beefs could get cleared up with one-on-one chat.

Anyway, that's the internet. It's best to find a smattering of people you get on with and start a group chat on discord or similar but that takes time.

In the 12 games he played he was like an adult playing with kids… Was taking the puck behind his net and was taking it to the opposing net. Maybe it’s too small of a sample size but it sure doesn’t mean that he’s a bum
