Because there were cheaper options via FA and Knies was drafted. Thats what teams do when a guy becomes to pricey they find a cheaper option and move on

Would have loved to keep him that contract was an issue

as soft as the calls against the oilers were they are getting away with some obvious calls.

Who are your Conn Smythe leaders right now? (one from each team).

Right now for me it's

Avalanche - Nazem Kadri. Makar or MacKinnon are also acceptable options but I find Kadri has been key asset in terms of being there when they need it the most.

Oilers - Connor McDavid. Draisaitl, Kane and even Smith have performed admirably, but even still McDavid takes this cake.

Rangers - Mika Zibanejad. Man has been an absolute beast.

Lightning - Nikita Kucherov. They haven't had one huge performer, but Kucherov has been still above the rest. Vasilevskiy was great in FLA series and the Game 7 but overall I don't think he has been Tampa's best performer.

Additional note - should Oilers win the Avs in this series but lose to TB or NYR in the finals, we could have a case for the first Conn Smythe for a losing team in a looooooong time.

I still dont understand why Holland wanted him heck paid for him rather than treat him like a cap dump and demand picks to be attached. As there were some good UFA or trade options that would have come with cheaper cap hits

EDM Dcore is not good enough to go up against COL. Can’t handle their forecheck, zone entries, going to take a Mike Smitt epic performance to steal a game.
