I don't think the Hawks would be interested in swapping Dach for Dvorak. They're rebuilding, and are looking for youth and prospects. They aren't going to ship out a prospect for a 26-year-old who will likely be at least 29 by the time they're competitive again.

Sabres don't want petry and they sure as hell aren't giving up assets for him.

the sabres are probably the last team not named arizona that would pay futures for a guy like Petry. He makes no sense to that team at all

That trade is awful for CHI. And MTL would have to add a very substantial amount more. Also, not sure where you heard those rumors, but i doubt any of it is true.

Rebuilding teams aren't giving up assets for an aging RD. Whose contract will be up before they become competitive. So Buffalo passes.

Apparently there have been talks between Kyle Davidson and Kent Hughes. Hughes is targeting Dach. What was discussed was Dvorak`s name was on the table, but if this trade does happen I`m sure the HABS would need to add a prospect and possibly a pick.

Pierre Lebrun is the source.

Honestly, it makes no sense to anyone but Hughes managed to get a ton out everyone at the TDL so who knows

I could see them taking him for free as a vet RD to play with Power, but I more likely see MTL retaining 50% and dealing him to a contender for a 2nd

Woof! I hope Davidson isn't considering that unless there is something a lot more promising than Dvorak coming back to CHI. But I doubt MTL would be willing to give up anything that I would be happy with.

I wouldn`t be surprised something happens (with the HABS or some other team), Hagel was traded for 2 late 1st rd picks from Tampa. I believe Kyle doesn`t like the composition of the team and wants to start fresh.

You could put a bunch of prospects with Dach that are having problems breaking into the NHL; Byfield, Glass, Thomas, Crouse etc (not at their top potential). All of which have a limited value today due to this issue.

I can't find anything from Lebrun anywhere about Dach and Dvorak. Was it a tweet or an article or something?

Well, I think a lot of it has to do with the pandemic shortened seasons. It has stunted the development of a lot of young players. And I would agree that the composition of the team is definitely not favorable. There isn't enough versatility and too many forwards that don't play enough defense. But giving up on Dach just seems way too premature. Dvorak doesn't really fit CHI's timeline either and isn't really anything special with that $4.5mil contract. He would simply be a placeholder. Which getting a placeholder for a player that is 2 pandemic years removed from being a 3rd overall pick is pretty disheartening. I doubt Davidson considers that unless the return is a lot more substantial than Dvorak. The added prospect and pick better be pretty nice. I think if he makes that move, it will be a huge red flag that he is not going to be a good GM.

Dvorak can't be the main piece... unless Davidson wants in on the Dorion very Select Club

My thoughts exactly. Dvorak is not a main piece. But he is a CHI native, so I could see the appeal in bringing him home as an auxiliary piece to a more robust trade.

Dach was disappointing last season, but he turned 21 y/o in January and we know that 6'4 guys can take a bit longer to come into their own. It would be stupid to trade Dach now at his lowest value. Dorion traded Zibanejad when he was 23 y/o as he was "just" a 50 pts 2nd line center... The rest is history

Don't trade young guys with huge potential until you really know and Dach is still way too young. Unless they could get Montreal's 1st round pick or Caufield/Suzuki

But why would they trade for Caufield though? They already have a better version...

I totally understand your point, but at this stage in Dach`s career I see HABS offering at best Logan Mailloux or Riley Kidney as potential prospects. I know Logan comes with a bag of skeletons but he will be a Stud D in the HNL and I could see Riley being a potential #2 C. but then again prospects are a bag of magic beans, some become superstars and others are just OK

BTW I`m not trolling here. You might not agree with me and this is fair

Have you ever heard of Kyle Beach?

What kind of dumb **** would trade for Logan freaking Mailloux after that debacle?

Society still has a very long way to go but it's evolving. Sexual offenders are RIGHTFULLY canceled. No team should ever sign Logan Mailloux. I doubt Montreal does after the backlash on social media and the fact that they are hiring women.

Even if Mailloux wasn't a criminal, Chicago would be downright stupid to trade Dach for doc Mailloux and Kidneys

Well, none of that is going to get you Dach. There is no reason for CHI to move Dach, especially not for Dvorak or any of the other pieces you were talking about. As for your reference being Lebrun, I can't find a single thing about him saying that. All I found was some MTL local beat writer name Jimmy Murphy who speculated on whether or not MTL should target Dach and then a few others citing his speculation in articles of their own. I don't think there are any teams that will be selling low on their pandemic draft picks with slow starts to their careers. Dach is a big boy and he is only 21. There is zero reason to move on from him.

Oh yeah. Didn't even know about the Mailloux controversy until now. CHI definitely wouldn't take Mailloux if you paid them to.

People have kids, sisters, mothers, etc. It's pretty normal if they are disgusted with sexual offenders and I would also BOYCOTT any company hiring sexual offenders, especially in a spotlight like the NHL. Let them have their second chances working towards the good of everyone (like a recycling center for example)

People have lost their job (or even got canceled) for much much less than that. It's crazy how many people are still completely blind/asleep to this though, like if it was not REALITY. This is not a ****ing video game. Acts have consequences and we are all under the same rules.

I absolutely agree with you. And I am a Hawks fan, but i really don't feel like they have done or said enough yet to earn back my trust. Was Mailloux part of that 2018 Hockey Canada gang rape thing? Or is this an entirely different situation?

Making a trade that involved Mailloux or anyone like him would probably be the final nail in the coffin for my Blackhawks fandom.

No Mailloux was too young to be part of that 2018 situation, which is another HUGE reason why Mailloux will not play in the NHL. They should actually clean everything and set CLEAR examples as to what NOT DO if you want to live your dream of being in the NHL, so maybe next generations will be a bit more respectful and think twice before committing crimes

Safe to say the Hawks are actually walking on a very thin line, they have to regain public trust and it will take years. And look at how many women hirings there is around the league. It is changing.

You can't say the N word anymore, well you certainly can't rape, abuse or defame people as well.
