He hasn’t been declining. He was hurt last season and this he was with practically 4th liners half the year and still produced.

Logan is not declining. We had injuries out the arse last year and LC played most the season with guys who are better suited to bottom six minutes and half of them were rookies. He's also an elite penalty killer. Yes, this is too much but to call Logan declining is a cop-out.

Keep adding.

Jk yeah I would take that in a heartbeat.

Couture is still very good but the Shark’s cap woes would be lessened without his contract on the books. You could take out the 1st and it would still be a yes from me.

Of course you would, it’s a gross overpayment. Realistically Couture would be a nice fit in Buffalo. However, it shouldn’t cost half that much to take that contract off your hands. His long-term contract at that much money and considerable injury history make it a significant risk.

Realistically the trade would be something like:

Mittelstadt and Portillo for Couture with some retention, $1.5-$2 million

Truly, I would have to start thinking if Couture as cap dump (not saying he is one) is something that Sabres would do. His and contract are something that, does not fit any Sabres timelines I can think of
