Add kakko and a high pick and MAYBE you’re there

Thought about adding Kakko but wanted to get a feel for where both sides stood before adding or subtracting

Winnipeg already has a bunch of left shot wingers, and I would imagine unless they put Perfetti up the middle, they would want a center in return.

Kakko has to go in the trade imo.. but I did edit cause idk the leverage WPG has by saying PLD is gonna hit UFA in 2 years.. but it is NY so if he’s willing to sign an 8 year extension it’s gonna be a much larger ask in a trade

Take out Chytil add Kakko and a 2nd and it's probably pretty close.

I say accept.

Chytil had a pretty impressive post season and can slot in the 2c spot, Schneider fills a need and would be a great addition.

None of the kids on the roster will be in this proposal: Lundkvist, Pajuniemi and Vaisinen are of great interest, as is Robertson and possibly Garand.

How would the Rangers fit under the cap? If PLD gets 7 mil (could be closer to 8), that would give them about 7.25 million for 9 players. The depth would be horrible.

Nobody you mentioned outside of Lundkvist is of any interest to WPG

As @sabresparaavida so accurately points out, you have $14 million in cap space with 10 slots open, one of whom will be DuBois. (And substituting Kakko for Chytil makes it $2.3 million worse minus Kakko's resigning number.) It seems to me like very short-sighted strategy to give up all those futures plus any chance to sign a free agent (including Copp) in return for him.

"NMC" means "No Movement Clause," which in Trouba's instance doesn't allow trades without a player waiver until July, 2024.

I'm constantly amazed why folks think PLD is about an 8m player. Rangers don't have the cap for him and really shouldn't be giving up good young assets for him. Just much better value in the UFA market.

I’m aware- that also coincides with the expiration of PLD’s contract

Left field theory, bread man to Florida, bobrovsky to Winnipeg and Dubois to ny. And a ton of different other craziness lol

Hmmmm . . . which is better: Pierre Luc Dubois, or Andrew Copp, Filip Chytil, Braden Schneider, the 2023 first-round draft pick, and about $2 million in cap space?

The twitter translate bot (my French is crap):

"By the way, according to information obtained during the final, the #Rangers of New York would be more than interested in acquiring Pierre-Luc Dubois. Ongoing negotiations with the #Jets on the parameters of a transaction. It's not done, but Chris Drury is very interested"

You're right.....How about this Kadri at 8m X 4....and the Rangers keep those assets, and if they need cap space trade Chytil or Kakko for an asset. As we both kinda suggest.....giving up a lot for a RFA and paying that RFA UFA money seems like a losing process for the "buying" team

He's a good 2C who is about to be expensive and now may be moved to this 3rd team already. Don't get it
