Isles say no, there is absolutely no chance they move Dobson.

I'd throw the Wild in the mix, Guerin reportedly loves Miller. I don't think we could offer anything that couldn't be beat so I don't see us being the team to actually acquire him, but if Rutherford isn't too impressed with other offers he could always circle back to his former assistant GM and make something happen.

I know this is the case but that's the only thing I can see wanting from NYI. Apparently, the NYI/VAN JT trade "can still happen" but I don't understand what VAN would get back.

I will add a trade with MIN and see if anything makes sense there

Isles not giving up dobson. I’d guess that your best possible return from isles is beau + a pick or prospect. Beau has great playoff experience for a young kid, several clutch moments, and still has a lot of growth potential. I’d rather isles move Bailey obviously but it takes two.

I think our best offer is something like Dumba, top 10-15 protected 1st, and Jost. I have a hard time believing that offer wouldn't be beat

Only thing with VAN is that they are loaded at FWD so the return HAS to include a RHD for it to make sense. In my opinion anyways

          1) Dobson is not available

          2) Comparing the values of some of these offers relative to the others is laugh out loud funny, especially the Leafs

Is Miller currently playing LW or center for VAN? Beau is LW, so if thats what Miller was playing, it’s a simple swap.
But center becomes more difficult for sure.

He is playing C but even still, VAN has 11, Top-9 calibre FWDs so bringing one back in for JT keeps that problem prominent

How so? Value are pretty comparable imo. The TOR one is the NYR one but instead of the added 3rd you get an actual NHL-ready Dman

Yeah, if the ask *has* to include an RHD, then the Isles are out. Pulock has an NTC, so he's not moving. Mayfield is 29 and a pending UFA so I can't imagine the Canucks wanting him as the centerpiece of the Miller deal. And Dobson is not an option unless Vancouver adds a ton.

I read somewhere (maybe from Jeff Marek) that the Trocheck signing DOESNT take them out of the JT sweepstakes. Kind of makes sense since they lost Copp AND Strome.

Bringing it back to Dobson, who is by far the most valuable piece going in any direction in this ACGM, is not just worth a 1st and Liljegren. Or Carlo and a 2nd being worth Dobson. It's just not close. Why wouldn't the Isles just pay a 1st and a B level guy?

I've got that, but if you had read the above comments then you could've saved yourself sending that message. Its the ONLY piece I can see VAN wanting back and apparently the NYI/VAN trade for JT is still possible.

Because the value that a young, NHL-ready, Top-4 RHD brings is greater than the 1st or the B level prospect that ISNT a RHD

If you did a little research on the isles situation you could have saved yourself making this unrealistic ACGM.

Chris Botta is an isles blogger who speculated that it’s still possible, that really doesn’t mean much.

It doesn’t matter that Dobson is the only piece Vancouver would want back. He’s not available, there is no realistic path to Vancouver getting Dobson.

I think our best offer is something like Dumba, top 10-15 protected 1st, and Jost. I have a hard time believing that offer wouldn't be beat

Imo Dumba would have to be replaced with Addison or Faber to make talks worthwhile

Dude, read the room. This ACGM was to see if there were any suitors missing (ie. I missed Minny). I dont see how a NYI/VAN trade makes sense either but it was done at the draft so the actual GMs of those teams think there is a match. I am just saying that is the only NYI piece that makes sense for VAN from my perspective. If you have an adequate grasp of reading comprehension then you could have saved BOTH of your comments.

Agreed from a VAN perspective and would make the most long term sense but I am caught with wanting VAN to compete THIS year (Im impatient now haha)
