How about you stop trading Holl and Kerfoot for Miller…

Don't see Nucks taking that. For VAN that move screams retool but the assets they're getting here does not.

Should Leafs be able to first turn Kerfoot or Holl into decent future assets there might some interest provided VAN is out of playoff contention early.

I’ll never understand the Muzzin hate. The Marner trades. And the Tavares apparently not being a centre anymore. It’s so hard to be a leaf fan because of leaf fans.

They are severely painful. Some of the best is them droning on that Nylander sucks, but the second Tkachuk is rumored to be moved, it's Nylander for Tkachuk straight up.

Finally, someone who realises that the Leafs would need to replace Muzzin if they are moving out.

As for the Miller trade, Miller with that retention if he's a PPG+ player would be in high demand assuming this is a deadline deal. Holl is probably going to be an own rental or traded this offseason for cap.

In terms of the return Miller is going to get, it's probably going to be underwhelming for Canucks fans but I don't think it's going to be something like that. There would at least have to be one notable piece other than the pick.

I’m a leafs fan and I don’t really get it, I don’t do stupid trades. Like muzzin is a soild d with injuries. Marner is really good. Tavares is really good still but just getting older. But some, well I mean most leaf fans are kinda stupid

You’d think all Leaf fans must be related with all these copy/paste dumps lol

Try Liljigren, Robertson, Hirvonen, 23 first at least but will probably have to add more.

Understood initial offer was underwhelming but your counter is even more ridonculous. I think the lesson we can all take is miller to Toronto does not seem feasible; Canuck fans think he is much better than pretty much everyone else and we leaf fans think we can get him for embarrassingly little. Let’s all move on

I actually don’t think this is necessarily far off. At worst miller is a proven close to ppg player. Liljeren has yet to suit up an entire season, Robertson needs to score to be useful and while I like him, no guarantee he does that at the nhl level, a low first, and another decent guy not high level prospect. If I’m canucks I want a good prospect, a surefired everyday young nhl player, and a first

To each his own, but no chance i (& I’m fairly confident dubas) will pay that for miller. He’s not a career ppg guy (far from it); he had a really good year last year but he’s turning 30 and a FA. No way he deserves or gets close to that haul, but Chicago traded debrincat for less (& he’s way more valuable than Miller) so never say never in this league…

The debrincat deal was a funny one, they got less than almost everyone expected, but also they got a top ten pick I that scenario. I think Chicago got in their own heads about getting a high draft pick back after the jones deal and trying to be as horrible as the can to get bedard

Amen (to your Team Explanation).

I kept excoriating Muzzin trades because they were so unrealistic (not to mention cap-unconscious) that I got an undeserved reputation as either a Muzzin hater or a Leaf hater. It wasn't until I started pointing out the opposite side of that coin (as @DrDinkiee and @NR1 say above) that things started getting back in balance.

Canucks don't take that. That literally doesn't help them, and it's WAY under value for Miller.

If you can't pay someone to take Holl and Kerfoot, why would Vancouver take them as "key pieces"

The only Muzzin trade that makes sense is to send him to the Kraken for Adam Larson...allowing them to play Sandin on the left side and giving him the season to improve along side a comparable veteran D.....then try to sign Aston-Reese for 4th line LW and Milano for 2nd line LW for 3mil or less combined if possible

Kerfoot and Holl could be flipped as assets at the deadline. Canucks probably not a playoff team. Could easily get a 2nd plus for Kerfoot, 3rd for Holl at the deadline. So in the end the package would be A 1st, 2nd, 2 3rds, Hirvonen, and likely a prospect.
