Canes reject. They aren’t trading necas unless it is to immediately get better.

That’s insulting. There is not one piece that would be of interest.

The canes don't have cap space for a move like that and even if they already have Slavin, Gardiner and Skjei on the left side.

They're likely to want futures.

why not just offer sheet Necas? 2 round pick compensation from 2.1 to 4.2. He'd take within that and Carolina doesn't have the cap room at the moment.

Opposite. They aren’t trading Necas for futures while trying to win a cup

They have $1.8M free. Unless they plan on moving out another salary they don't have a choice.

Gardiner. They’ll pay someone (Arizona) to take him and sign Necas.

They JUST signed Bear, so I highly doubt he's going anywhere.

Gardiner has a 7 team NTC. I bet any amount of money AZ is on that list lol

I bet at this point he doesn’t care where he goes.

Of course he does. A buyout probably makes more sense than attaching a 1st to move him.

They signed Bear because they essentially had to. He was going to arbitration and would have most certainly been awarded less than the $4.5M they could have walked away from.

There’s no chance they trade Necas for futures

I doubt it. Especially if he wants to play. It’s only 1 year. If he plays well enough they move him at the deadline anyway. If he re-aggravates the injury and is out long term again what does it matter where he is.

Every player cares where they play. Statements like yours shows the real disconnect on this message board. He holds the cards unless CAR finds a taker not on the NTC.

The cap is easily sorted, send Gardiner to rot in the minors, theres 1.1M. Waive Coghlan or Chatfield as they have too many D already, there’s $750K more. Lookie there, add 1.8M, theres $3.5M for Necas.

Or, just buyout Gardiner after LaJoie settles or his arb case is heard. There’s $2.9M to add to the $1.8M they already have.

Again, no chance they have to deal Necas for futures.

We shall see. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Pretty much a given they have to move on from him somehow. Probably 2nd window buyout

Right now you are over 80m with 21 players. Dump 2 add 1 leaves 20 and at the cap ceiling. Still got work to do.

Not impossible but not simple either.

Also the 10% offseason overage option. Need to fix by opening day though.
