With that type of retention on Dvorak, I think it's an easy yes from Colorado. You can remove the condition and the VGK 4th and it's still an easy yes. I think your ask is low for that type of retention tbh.

I don't want Dvorak but that would be good value. Hughes wouldn't retain that much for three years though.

Edmonton isn't trading their 50 point RHD for your useless winger. It's not happening. Period. End of story.

You'll be able to give Dvorak away if that's the deal.

MTL will need pay teams to take Armia. He's a negative asset.

The thing with MTL fans that I don't understand is that the players you all try to move are Dvorak, Armia, Anderson and Hoffman. Now, I understand moving Dvorak; he has some value albeit not as much as you guys think he's worth, but the other three don't have good value.

1) Hoffman - He's a one dimensional player, a sniper. He's terrible in every other aspect of hockey aside from sniping and he's not sniping anymore. If he was a rental this year then you could probably get something of value for him at the deadline, but nobody is taking on two years of him unless you're taking something back the other team needs to unload.

2) Armia - He's a 4th line/cusp 3rd line player who's almost always injured, overpaid and signed for three years. I've said this a thousand times, but he's exactly the type of player other teams would pay YOU to take off their hands because you're doing through a rebuild.

3) Anderson - When he's on? Sure, he's a big power forward who can score, but he's 28, signed to five more years at a cap he isn't living up to which is partially due to the fact he's almost never healthy.

To me the only pieces you guys can realistically move for positive value are : Dvoark, Dadonov, Allen and Edmundson. Now, you're not getting firsts for any of those players, but you can absolutely load up on 2nds/3rd and mid-level prospects.

The only way you're getting rid of the likes of Hoffman, Armia and Anderson is by retaining 50% on all of these players and then you may get something of value. GM's have been VERY adverse to taking on long-term contracts even with good players, so when you have damaged goods it's even harder. And here's the thing, who cares if you retain 50? You're in a rebuild. This is the time to do it and get paid in futures to do it.

Absolutely no chance penguins give up a pick for your cap dump. Get real. Give us a 1st and maybe we'll take your 3 year cap dump

-Barrie is still useful, if one-dimensional, top 4 RD/PP1 QB. Hoffman is a goal-scorer who doesn't score goals anymore. Montreal adds a good pick to this deal to make it happen.

-Armia's 3x$3.4M is a cap dump at this point. No one's giving you anything back for him right now, especially not a Penguins team that's already at the cap.

-Avs take this and run, and leads me to asking a question to Habs fans as a whole:

Why do you keep trying to get rid of Christian Dvorak? He's a fine middle-6 C on a team with not a ton of depth up the middle - Nick Suzuki is a clear 1C, Jake Evans is 3/4C, Kirby Dach hasn't shown enough yet to write him in at 2C, and Sean Monahan is an enormous question mark with his injury history. The only prospects I see in the pipeline are Riley Kidney & Jan Mysak, who would probably benefit from being brought along slowly. Why would you want to just cut bait with the best 2C/PK1 option you have, *especially* in a deal like this where you're retaining 3x$2.2M and getting back a 2nd and a 4th round pick swap?

I'm glad I'm not the only one here that seems to understand this. Honestly I don't want to move Dvo, he's a quality middle piece that can play up and down the lineup at both C and LW. I've never understood the big push to move him out for scraps.

What confuses me the most about this is that Armia getting a better return than Dvorak lol. Retaining 50% on Dvorak and swapping 4ths nets a conditional 3rd that may move up to a 2nd but very unlikely too. But Armia with no retention nets a 3rd. As a pens fan and if we had the cap I’d rather just do the Dvorak trade than the Armia one lol
