Looking at TDL options

Created by: Lights
Team: 2022-23 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 6, 2022
Published: Nov. 6, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Kinda making my own lines here that I think would be cool to try
Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Anderson, Craig
  2. 2024 7th round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
Would definitely try and get a third G by the TDL, in case of any other injury. Would suck to lose in the playoffs because of goalie injuries.
BUF
  1. 2023 5th round pick (TOR)
  2. 2024 6th round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
This assumes that Buffalo simmers off by the time the TDL comes.
2.
TOR
  1. Braun, Justin ($500,000 retained)
PHI
  1. 2024 4th round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Depth in case of injury
3.
TOR
  1. Garland, Conor
  2. 2024 5th round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
I like the idea of getting a guy with term and think he’d be a solid buy low candidate. Think he could thrive in Toronto’s top 6.
VAN
  1. Ovchinnikov, Dmitry
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Kerfoot dealt to a third team.
4.
TOR
  1. 2024 3rd round pick (NJD)

What's a 5th and 6th going to do for Buffalo. They aren't bereft of prospects

If you call Garland a forward with term that could thrive in a top 6 role, why is it only a 2nd and a nobody prospect going the other way?

If buffalo is out of it, I believe we would offer Anderson the chance to go wherever he wishes

If we are out of it we will let Anderson go where he wishes and promote UPL.

Yea, I wonder if a guy like Anderson (if he wants to be traded) would be a nice fit for the Leafs in his last NHL season probably. He's loved by his teammates.
Leafs have no need for Garland, and Kerfoot provides depth at centre if needed. Rather have 3.5m cap next summer with Kerfoot as a UFA, than 4.9m Garland

His contract is up this season, so thankfully this one will finally die off.

The Anderson and Braun deals are possible but the other two would get rejected by Van and NJ.

Maybe. They didn't do that last year, UPL isn't doing so hot, and Toronto I think we can agree is not going to be on that list if it came to fruition anyway. Still doubt it would be for something so insignificant

Yeah, I'm not making excuses for upl, I think his play is uneven at best, but this year, with all the injuries in buffalo, I don't think he even has ahl caliber d in front of him in Rochester.

Prow Laaksonen Davidson Bartowski still though I think Laaksonen was out last night then the 3rd pair is ECHLers

And our third pair of ahlers were -3 in 10 minutes of work against Carolina.
