Chychrun and Girard don't replace Muzzin's style of play , one just replaces his cap hit, and the other his injury history.

A 1st a 2nd a serviceable PK guy and a decent prospect is more that generous for girard

If the Leafs aren't going to win a round, those guys aren't making the difference.

Getting rid of the future for a D-man that hasn't played 70 games once in a season is worse especially giving up Knies

Girard is not what the leafs need

Edmundson needs to perform better before he gets a 1st

I think the most logical one is edmundson but im a habs fan and to be honest i would be hesitant to trade for him since he's also having back issues

I was actually thinking that the Leafs should add a Vileneuve type prospect for us taking Holl's contract and we would add Wideman to replace Holl as the depth d man for the Leafs

They don't care for trade value, Girard is a guy that fits well in the team's system.

I agree about edmundson 100% the question is though how desperate the leafs are to trade for a Dman now... if i was dubas I'd be pretty desperate

Murphy would be the ideal one, Adds a-lot of what the team is missing plus has term & won’t break the bank 1st + 3rd & Kressler

Rielly-Murphy
Sandin-Benn but Brodie later
Gio-Holl but Benn when Brodie is back

COL declines easily. They are dealing with their own injuries, why would they move a player like Girard out? Not to mention, it's not enough value coming back.

Take a view of the pieces for what they really are.
Late late 1st.
Late late 2nd in 2024.
Overpaid UFA Engall.
Throw in prospect.

And they got laughed at for good reason. It was a crazy overpay.
And remember edmundson doesnt have the "hype" around him that chiarot did.
So not only is this a crazy overpay on talent alone, its an overpay by stupid nhl gm standards too.

Besides when have we known dubas to trade for meatheads that hurt the team? Come on now lets not be silly about this

Yeah, they really don't need to make any reactionary additions like these. Fact is the Leafs already have enough LD, with Muzzin out, it falls on Holl, Sandin, Liljegren, and Giordano to replace what he brought. If they don't then, the Leafs probably add a rental that can, and in the off-season they probably resign that person (if they are a good fit) over Holl.

I assuming the hawks don't want to trade him if he didn't get traded at the off season

I think they would definitely want to by the TD, to tank plus he was one of the few pieces that doesn’t need retention

I think IF you are sending him to the Habs, you need to cause we have better players playing in our top 6. Holl would be a 2 mil healthy scratch on the Habs roster, hence the reason you would have to pay us to take his contract.
