The Detroit offer is down right insulting and will be rejected immediately.

Wings easily so no. Leafs easily say no the Coyotes., Leafs need the good and cost efficient Sandin at 1.4, instead of 4.6m Chychrun. And to give up a first and Robertson too?

Michael Rasmussen is on pace for 33 points a career year for him, He's worth a hell of a lot more than a 3rd round pick that will basically be close to a 4th round pick should the Leafs win the cup.

It’s always comical when leaf fans think everyone just wants to give them players for peanuts

The leafs really dont need 4th liners from bad teams just because they are tall.
They also have zero need for chychrun, but he'll get more than that

Rasmussen would be more that just a 4th liner. Right now the Leafs have Järnkrok in their top 6 tears of joy

You mean the guy whose spent pretty much all season on the 3rd line? No, he's not been a regular in the leafs top 6, and the entire point of getting someone new would be so that they dont have to play guys like jarnkrok on the 2nd line sometimes, not to get another guy who should be in the bottom 6.
Rasmussen would 100% be a 4th liner on the leafs btw

And Liljegren is a bottom pairing d-man.

Yeah, guys getting top 4 mins on great defensive teams totally would be on the bottom pair of a bad one. Nice try homie

So you think the Red Wings would play Liljegren on the first or second pair instead of Seider or Hronek?

So you think the leafs would play rasmussen on the 3rd line or higher?

Well that's pretty much what you said though, regarding the Wings D.
Why not just answer the question?

Yes, and if liljegren was magically a red wing, he would probably get top 4 mins if the wings were trying to win and not develop seider. Liljegren has comparable offensive numbers and better defensive metrics than he does this year, so it's more than a yes or no.
And now my question, do you think rasmussen would get guarenteed 3rd line or higher mins on the leafs?

Exactly. You said Ras is just a 4th liner. Now when the narrative has changed to a Leafs player the same thing doesn't apply? Liljegren is 3rd pairing d-man in Detroit.

Ras is a 4th liner on a good team. The narrative hasnt changed at all, you should re-read the comments so they can sink in

But what is Järnkrok then? He has the same amount of points than Ras.

He's a third liner, and hes better than ras because he's proven it before, and he has the same points in less gamea while being better defensively. Sometimes players have slow starts and jarnkrok will eclipse ras pretty soon now that hes playing better. Ras is and always was a 4th liner

Okay, and why should Liljegren play in the Wings top 4?

What does that have to do with the leafs not wanting a 4th liner on the wings?

no, you see Rasmussen is a 4th liner on any team that isnt terrible with awful forward depth. Liljegren would still get 2nd pairing minutes on the wings if they were actually trying to win, and he'd get 2nd pairing minutes on most NHL teams. That's the difference
