Then you realize they play the maple leafs

Well the question is who shows up

The Leafs who like to utterly decimate teams. Or the Leafs who take a vacation whenever they play teams in CBJ's position

It would be cool if they all became UFAs. It would be chaos.

I means that's what would happen. In general the team folds and the players take the owners to court, but they are allowed to sign with another team.

If we're talking NHL? The team would default and the NHL would take over the team and keep it afloat. I think this happened a few decades ago.

Just looked and the NHL did it with the Sabres in 2003. The team went Bankrupt, but the NHL kept them afloat until they found new owners.

Owner was charged for fraud and his assets were frozen. Team couldn't pay their players because it was his asset. NHL took over the team for a month until they sold it.

They also did it in the late 2000s with Arizona, correct?

The league has too much money, and too much interest in keeping franchise values high, to just let a team fold. A quick look at the latest few expansion fees for new franchises, and it's easy to see why they are bending over to keep poorer franchises afloat and in-place.

all rentals to the leafs

Just to add, all the rentals are resigned to new contracts. To make this happen Bunting, Samsonov, Holmberg, Kampf all sign contracts under 1m. Oh, and Murray is traded, retention free and without sweeteners.

Could see someone's do a Kase or Ennis and basically sign in Toronto let the med staff do their thing. Produce with the big 4 then get a bigger deal somewhere else

I feel were gonna see that with JP or Brown

Next trade is going to be between Oilers and Coyotes:

Jakob Chychrun, Nick Bjugstad and 2023 2nd.
For
Philip Broberg, 2023 1st, 2024 1st, Jesse Puljujärvi and Warren Foegele.

I feel other teams would beat that though as at this point JP is just a cap dump

Like Arizona gonna want prospects and picks more so than cap dumps and taking salary back

As in the end why does Arizona want to take on more cap in a Chycrun trade. Also dont think he works with the Oilers cap wise as he would I believe only leave them with 5mill to sign 4 guys and meet the 20 team limit and Bouchard also need extending.
