I have never seen a fan base so desperate to trade a player they just signed to a long-term contract, which hasn't even kicked in yet. And the best part was how much they all said he was worth last trade deadline. You can't make this stuff up.

The Canes will trade for Miller when you can find out how to get him in the 4-5m AAV cap hit range. Give them a call back when that is possible.

You want Carolina to take an 8x8 extension that you just signed? I think the picks and prospects need to go the other way. Miller doesn't make Carolina better

The fan base didn't sign this guy. Most of us wanted him traded and to move this team into a rebuild. Most of us wanted that money to keep Horvat not JT. As for last year he was worth a lot since he was over a ppg player making only 5.5 million dollars. Any player with that type of production is worth a ton and the Canucks should have sold high. Not sure what your talking about?

Of course you don't because you're a Canuck fan. Your GM and most Canuck fans on this forum WAY OVER VALUED HIM the last two TDL's and no sane GM bit and paid that kind of price because no sane GM wanted to sign him to a new 7-year $8 million/year contract, so your GM had no choice, and now you're stuck with him, and that's why most of you are desperate to trade him. More clear now?

Fried said teams are calling about Miller, so he isn't un tradable and we aren't necessarily stuck with him. Although the price will be much lower than what was expected by Nucks fans last year. Ill admit some fans were saying things like Schneider, Lafreniere and a 1st which is crazy. Although the ones that are sane would be ecstatic to get only a 1st round pick and would have been happy with a lesser return last year as well. Miller is still a great player that puts up points and hits, and he would be a useful piece for a team that has a window of contention of 4-5+ years. The canucks are garbage and won't contend for 4-5 years so a Miller trade makes sense for us and can benefit another team to. Also there were reported offers for Miller last TDL but Rutherford is an idiot and didn't take them (rangers offered Chytil Lundqvist and 1st).

I'm aware of what has been offered for him, that's why I said the Canucks (and fans) way over valued him. IMO, the problem with JT isn't his play, it's his attitude. The Canucks actually have a very talented team that should be way better than they show, and that is probably a combination of coaching/management and problems in the room with leadership. They have a strong forward group, a good young goalie, and a crap defensive core, but they could overcome that if they played better team D. A coach like Barry Trotz would have them in the playoffs as is IMO. Plus, why on earth trade Horvat and not get a good defenseman for him? They got good value for him from NYI, but two more forwards isn't going to fix the D. They should have targeted Chychrun even if they got less overall in the trade, because he would make them a better team right away and is still young enough to matter in 4 or 5 years.

The locker room talk is all speculation. Miller has an attitude but he wants to win. As I said before there are currently teams interested in him so we'll see what happens. I know our D is bad but chychrun isnt the answer. We have Hughes, OEL, Rathbone, Dermott and 3-4 LHD prospects, we don't need an offensive minded LHD. Also there's zero chance AZ wanted Horvat, they want a 1st ++ and we are not giving up our first round picks or prospects unless its for a extremely good young RHD which is very hard to come by. Anyways, Im happy our team is bad and I want us to be worse so we can get a top 4 pick and draft one of Bedard/Fantilli/Carlsson/Michkov and hopefully draft a RHD with the isles pick.

JT had an attitude with the Rangers and it's why he was traded, so it's really not speculation at this point. And Chychrun can play RD and would instantly make the Canucks much better, but if the goal is to suck as bad as possible to bet a top 4 pick, god bless.

Say the Canucks didn't sign Miller and he was about to become a free agent you don't think that with 4 full seasons as a ppg player with 3 70+ point seasons (he'll get there this year baring injury) that teams wouldn't pay him the 8 million the Canucks signed him for? A guy that can play center and wing and plays physical isn't getting that on the open market you are straight up delusional sir. Even with his contract signed there have been numerous reports of the Canucks getting calls on JT's availability. So much so that Allvin had to contact JT and assure him he wasn't being shopped. Horvat who's never had a season close to what Miller had last year got 8.5 for 8 years. Larkin who has only been above 70 points once is about to get 8.5 or 9 million a year. As for the locker room stuff that has been debunked by multiple head coaches and players currently on the team. Do I think as a Canuck fan think he should stop dropping "F" bombs every other shift, stop breaking sticks and just play hockey, hell ya. Thanks for the debate smile

LOL. It's your fan base that is desperate to trade him with some even posting they would retain some salary for 7 years just to get rid of him, so cry to them chief. No chance Miller is traded at his full cap hit to any team in the NHL. ZERO.
