Based on cap and assets I think theres one more piece heading to NJD, bc based on this the devils would still have more than 2 mill in space. (bonino?)

My guess it's a top 10 protected pick or something. THis is a great haul for SJ and NJD doesn't part from their super super serious prospect. Muk is a nice prospect though.

San Jose fans should be very happy with this.

yeah because it can't be for a contract extension anymore right? Can't see what else it would be other than that.

yeah win-win imo. Maybe a bit better for NJ and if you told me that Mukh was the best prospect and Zetterlund was the best roster player I'd be worried, but getting hopefully two 1sts is big.

I don't mind this at all. Muk was the prospect I wanted (other than Nemec/Hughes obviously). Very curious as to the conditions of the 24 1st

Usually that isn’t the terminology they use - conditional and protected are different things.
For me this deal all hinges on the conditions. If it’s something that’s likely to happen - in other words if the sharks are likely to get the first, this is a very very very good deal for San Jose. If it’s contingent on the devils winning the cup, and otherwise it’s a third, it’s kind of what we all should have expected.

We will have to wait and see what the conditions are. That's for sure. But if it's just "top 10 protected" or something on those lines. Big win from San Jose.

STL already offered two firsts this year in a strong draft.

To me Grier was coveting stupid small assets like Ok instead of focusing on the big picture needs

fair but I don't think STL was adding that much on top of those picks. We at least get a decent prospect and an ok roster player.
I agree, looks like Grier went with quantity over quality but I still think it's a decent trade from our perspective.

2 x 1st (we will see what the conditions are on the 2nd 1st before we can fully know) + a very good A- level defence prospect is a very nice haul. and they got a B forward prospect and a B LD prospect also.

As long as that 2nd 1st round pick is something like "top 10 protected" - this is a great package.

If the sharks somehow got two firsts out of this, this will kind of change the market, and is a huge win for San Jose.
