What's the incentive for Washington? To flip him at the deadline?

Kuznetsov's 10 team no trade list is the biggest obstacle.....The trade might be good for both teams.

Kuzy just isn't waiving for Winnipeg and I doubt the Jets would consider it for two reasons, Kuzy's off ice past and the fact that a rebuild is staring them in the face, even this dumb organization is probably seeing it now, this group just doesn't have it and is getting older, the writing is on the wall more then ever.

Yeah 2 years of Kuznetsov for 1 year of Pierre-Luc Dubois makes total sense. Not.

Connor Bedard to the Caps is a major pipedream and isn't happening.

And PLD isn't signing no 1 year deal at the same money he's currently making now.

Kuznetsov have a NMC and Dubois only want to sign a long-term deal with the Canadiens.

My guess would be maybe a mid round pick also going to the Jets just because Caps are gaining a player that should play with the team for at least 5+ years before Dubois would move once Ovi retires and the caps start to rebuild. I honestly think that value leans on how much the Jets can get from Montreal before the value of Kuznetsov can be actually set.

The two main things are Kuznetsov isn't waiving for Winnipeg and the Jets wouldn't be looking to get older and more expensive with a declining asset.

1. Kuznetsov wants out of Washington and Dubois wants out of Winnipeg.

2. Bedard to the Caps currently has a 3% chance of happening, per tankathon.

3. That's Dubois' QO.

I don't see the reason why not here. The entire fundamental is flawed since Dubois isn't going to sign with Washington. So I ask how does this make sense at all for Washington outside of the idea of flipping Dubois at the deadline to a contender

Don't see Kuznetsov waiving for Winnipeg, And PLD is heading home to Montreal.

As far as Washington having a 3% chance of Connor Bedard, Detroit has a 5% chance doesn't mean they're close to getting him at the 1st overall pick.

And that makes sense for PLD his one year QO.

Dubois money off the books in one year instead of kuzy 2 years, not sure of that ufa class but could take a run at anyone, will be interesting to see how long keep pushing for ovechkin goes.

Kuznetsov's contract comes off the books.

And it's debatable that Dubois is the more solid player.

Washington try’s to turn mantha and kuzy into Tarasenko and Dubois, then Dubois into Mathews?

dubois is most likely going to be the better player next year and washington is going one year at a time given how old the rest of the core is. they would basically be viewing him as a one season rental, WPG would be getting a direct replacement with some term that Montreal just can't offer. I understand Jets fans saying they're going to rebuild but you can't be certain about that until it actually happens. I assume WSH would have to add something relatively significant to make it happen like McMichael for example

That's not true, Kuznetsov said it himself. The source in the first place was some random russian news site

No I completely understand why Winnipeg would do it. I just think trading for rentals is not what Washington should be doing. With Strome now there and the return of Backstrom a top 6 center is also not what Washington needs either. I just see this as a very near sighted move for them

I think PLD isn't highest on my list of potential rentals and there are other guys with more term that are available, but as a caps fan I am all in on rentals. Ovi will only be here for so long, go crazy now. We already know the team is going to be truly bad in 3 years, might as well make as big a push now. Also I love Backstrom but he's a very debatable top 6 center now ...
