He's a 5 year pro entering his 6th and final year of his Contract with a 4.5m QO.
He can just sign a 1 year deal and become a Free Agent after his 7th Year Pro

This seems like what you'd pay for Askarov or Knight in the Prospect range. Veterans guys like Voukoun and Kuemper got in their Prime's at a similar experience level as Hart but with Success in the NHL to back up such a high ask. Given his Play and his Contract situation coupled with the Stink of his Scandal from 2018 this just seems like a lot of Hart.

That said im sure PHI fans will still claim he should get a NHL Record Setting return higher then this based on all Hart didnt accomplish in 5 years

Don't like the ideas of moving Kulak and Foegele, both stepped up when it mattered and are great depth pieces. The hart deal probably needs to have Bourgault involved to get it through with that package. I actually really love that Van trade for both sides I'm a little mad I didn't think about that

I wouldn't say it's t h a t far off. A 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd is a pretty desirable package for a goalie who has struggled lately (not his fault obv but also not helping him), goalies don't go for much either, whens the last time you saw a goalie get traded for that much? All that package needs is a top forward prospect whether it's Bourgault or Holloway and one of Fanti or Rodrigue for it to go through

Correct it’s missing Bourg or Holloway. Also not sure how much Flyers u watch but Hart hasn’t struggled in like 2 years lol. He’s been above league average for sure the last 2 years on a horrible team that gives him zero help most games

They are both great depth pieces but not at 2.75M I think Broberg is ready for more minutes and I don't really like Kulak or Broberg on the right side

Why are there so many Ceci trades? Wasn't he top pair D with Nurse?

I'd just like to see a little more physicality and Gudas and Schenn would definitely bring that

I'm sorry but bottom pairing Ceci isn't gonna get you a proven 2nd line winger with term and retention...

Hes a third line winger to be precise but lets call him middle 6. And he gets paid 5 mil. Be realistic. Its a reasonable offer that the Canucks would have to consider.

I don't see why they would "have to consider." Garland is a good player, at 4.9 mil that's not a bad contract by any means. Getting him at 4 mil for 3 seasons is a steal contract. Ceci isn't the answer to Vancouver's defensive woes so I don't see the point in them wanting to acquire him. If they deal Garland with retention, it would make more sense to get picks/prospects that could then be flipped as part of another team for a defenseman they actually need

They'd save 750k in cap trading from a position of strength for a position of weakness. Ceci would likely play in our top 4. I'm not saying this is the best possible deal for Garland, we don't know what that is. My point is we dont pass easily. It's a fair offer that would and should be considered. There's talk of buying out Garland or adding a sweetener to get out from his contract. I don't quite buy into all that but he's clearly not highly coveted.

Just because a player would play in our top 4, doesn't mean they should. Tyler Myers has been in our top 4 for several years but that doesn't mean we want him there. Ceci is not that great, is too old for our core, and is not worth trading a good middle 6 forward for

It matters in the sense that he'd be one of our top 4 defencemen, thus improving our defence. Garland in not a big contributor to this team. Garland and Ceci are not core players so it doesn't matter if their age matches our core. They are players right now and could be traded at any moment. But again, save money, get a player in a position we need help by trading from a position we have depth. It makes sense. And the kicker is Ceci's deal ends a yr before Garland's. So ya definitely not an easy pass, but in fact something to be considered.

Garland is putting up 50 points while playing with bottom 6/ AHL caliber linemates. Garland is much better than Ceci. Fact is, Ceci no longer would be on our top 4 because we have Hronek and Bear now. Don't need a 3 mil bottom pair RHD when we already have a 6 mil one in Myer.

He finished the season with Aman and Joshua but he spent the first 3/4 of the yr with either JT Miller or Horvat or both as his linemates. He got demoted. I really don't see Hronek or Bear being good fits with Hughes so Ceci could end up on the top pair even. But that said he's a 4-5 guy. Similar to how Garland is a 2nd or 3rd line guy. Anyway that enough on that . My point is the value is fine. And worth considering. People get way to flippant on here critiquing proposals.
