No way in hell do we trade pesce if we don't have Tuch or Cozens coming back... and I know that he Sabers don't wanna give up either of those guys

If Pesce signs that deal, he likely stays.

Its when it goes higher in AAV and/or years that we are out

There’s no way the smartest most analytical teams is taking that deal. As much as I would love it if they did they’re gonna want something better than Joker

You mean like 13OA?

He's a pending ufa and they have aho, necas, Jarvis, pesce, teravainen, skjei and more to sign at the same time. That's before any moves they also have to make like in goal

That doesn’t mean they sell low on him. They have more than enough cap space to make all the signings they need to, although Turbo likely won’t be coming back. If Pesce is traded, is for something that forces the Canes hands because it would be too stupid to not take it. This is not that kind of offer.

Exactly... We'll have enough cap room to resign everybody and even make a long-term big slash (if we move Turbo)

They aren’t taking Joker plain and simple. 13 overall doesn’t mean anything to them bc that’s player likely won’t be in their lineup for 2 years. Joker stinks he’s not going to be part of that trade. That’s my point. It would have to be 13OA and an A prospect who’s already been drafted. They aren’t just giving you Pesce just bc

Still not interested in VO. Goal scoring and wings aren’t the problem in Columbus.

No team would trade a defenseman with a lot of term for a defenseman with no term left, 13th overall is fair value.

So, by that logic, Buffalo would be willing to move Dahlin for the 13OA pick. Granted, he is an RFA, but he doesn’t have term remaining on his current contract. Dahlin is to Buffalo what Pesce is to Carolina, so if 13OA if fair for Pesce, how is it not for Dahlin?

Right now, there is no reason for the Canes to move Pesce, and it would take a drastic overpayment to get him out of Carolina, taking into account how vital he is to the team. Pesce has said he wants to be a Hurricane for life, and right now, there is no reason to doubt that.

Well no because Dahlin is better and Is a RFA. Carolina if they wanted to move Pesce the 13th overall pick is fair enough value.

Dahlin and the Sabres have already agreed on an 8 year deal. It just can't be signed until July 1st due to league rules.

Comparing pesce to dahlin is so completely ridiculous in every way imaginable.

They are both the big Swiss army knifes on their respective blue line. Dahlin has the edge in offense, and Pesce has the edge in defense. Dahlin is a few years younger, yes, but overall impact they are about the same. If Buffalo isn’t willing to accept the 13OA pick for Dahlin, give me a reason why the Canes should accept the lowball offer of 13OA for Pesce? The Canes aren’t just going to give Pesce away.

Well that news must have been kept in the local Buffalo area, since news of that hasn’t been that widespread down in Carolina.

I'm just grateful to see an Olofsson trade NOT to the Canes for a change. Thank you for that. Not that I'm on board with the other trade, but thought I would extend some credit here.

I don't think there is much of a conversation to be had if you are gonna sit here any say that pesce and dahlin are the same and have equal value.

Pesce is a great Dman and is getting an extra bump because a defensive defensemen are in high demand. But to compare to a 1OA who is already arguably a top 3 dman and could very well be the best dman in the league in the next 2 years to pesce is just complete biasness.

Canes are going to have to sell someone, most likely. And maybe that's not pesce but it's not a preposterous trade offer.

Still doesn't make sense to trade Sammy at all.
