CHI will probably send you Blackwell for nothing if you want him, but they aren't retaining.

From WPG... it's a HUGE NO!

An overpaid little guy and 3 whatevers for Helly and Nino? hahahahaha... No.

and that's not even nearly as bad as the VAN / OTT trade. Bernard-Docker >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ethan Bear.

Neither DeBrincat or Hellebuyck are wasting their time in Canada, So not going to happen. Dorion has already filed a 15% arbitration case against DeBrincat he's not moving for awhile.

They aren't going to burn one of their two available retention slots on a $600K transaction for a 4th round pick. Considering their status of being in a rebuild and all the cap flexibility they have, their retention slots are much more valuable than that. I'd rather retain a large amount and get something that actually helps the rebuild.

I actually prefer the current situation than this, obviously at the exception of goaltending

I can understand not wanting to make the trade but that you like it or not, DeBrincat has proven his worth in the NHL, he has value

Gambrell has zero value but Thomson still has 2nd round pick value. Good skillset

Forsberg is also quite underrated, he had a very impressive season in 2021-22 and was getting in a groove again before he got injured last season

I'm personally not looking to trade Forsberg. DeBrincat yes because they need to improve 2-way forwards and the 2nd goalie. Thompson too because he won't have PP opportunity in Ottawa

Thomson was never "amazing" because of limited hockey IQ which will prevent him from being good defensively. He has skill but will need PP time to prove his worth in the NHL

I also don't remember Sens fans using "amazing" regarding JBD but he's pretty solid RHD prospect who will be good defensively

You're 100% right on Dorion though. He's not a manager, he's a mismanager

didnt see a bear trade making sense for VAN before the injury, more so now.

good fit with the team and JBD is an unnecessary step back at RHD

Absolutely 0 chance Ottawa offers Buffalo that trade. Zub is legit, not moving him nor a 2nd for un-needed players.

I think in general we all overhype our prospects. But JBD & Thomson were definitely hyped back then. I actually remember Dorion overhyping JBD himself haha.
Ottawa has a great future ahead of them. 1st step is replacing Dorion.
IMO the second step is trading Chabot for highest value and making Sanderson topdman. Personally i dont think Chabot is a guy you can win with, but his value would be high

Dorion is an used car salesman, but even then it's pretty natural that a GM is going to talk positively about his prospects

I am pretty informed on Sens prospects in general and seriously I don't think these 2 guys were ever hyped more than your regular 1st round pick prospect... I know a few Sens fans were a bit too high on Thomson for nothing but that's it. That being said, I don't check Reddit or Twitter so I haven't seen there

New management and coaching staff is indeed the key. Once that happen, and that you get Chabot his Methot (like when Murray got Methot for Karlsson), then Chabot becomes a force again. For now, he has been asked to do way too much for years. Sanderson is even better so it will start helping Chabot's game immensely by facing harder matchups

Agreed, you guys have Chychrun anyways. What would his(Chabot's) value be?
