He looks like definite trade bait after this move

Which is sad because is Dubois even that much better than Arvidsson? Dubois only had four more points than Arvidsson last year

A matter of personnel mix I think. They get bigger and stronger down the middle. Lizotte is basically Arvidsson 2.0 anyway

It's a good signing, as long as we wants to play in Los Angeles. Clearly he knew he was being traded to Los Angeles and still signed, so it is a good deal.

... Imagine if they told he they were going to trade him to Montreal to get the deal done and then traded him to L.A. instead! He could sue, but it would be funny.

Maybe 500k to 1mil too much but Dubois can also grow into this contract, he still has that game changer potential, it’s a wait and see

Fiala and Dubois on the same line will be ridiculous. That Moore contract sure hurts now...

Dubois needs some defensive improvement, but I don't know if any team has a better center pool than LA now. Kopi, PLD, Danault, Byfield, Lizzote, Turcotte, Pinelli. Maybe Buffalo? Maybe Vegas? Dallas?

Oh come on. I agree on the first 3 names, but Turcotte is struggling to make the league full time and Byfield is still too new. Their Center position is strong, not one of the best though.

Great move by the Jets, signing him and to then to getting a good return from the Kings. Kings still have the option to trade him during the next year though.
But the Kings must believe that PLD is gonna to great value for years to come. We'll see.

When will the Dubois wants to be traded to Montreal talks resume?

I like Dubois, but this is an overpayment and too much term for a guy who seems to be a 'grass must be greener over there' type.

And here's a stat that will frost your 'nads: Arvidsson's 59 points were in 1317 minutes, DuBois' 63 points were in 1350. So even though on paper Arvidsson appeared in 77 games and DuBois in 73, Dubois actually had two full games' more time on ice (at Arvidsson's per-game rate) than Arvy.

I can't disagree with the comments that say Dubois hasn't shown that he's worth this contract, but he's just turned 25, and he's apparently never liked where he's played so far, so I think the Kings are betting that he still has some upside that will come out now that he's in his happy place.
