Probably a fail safe in case Stankoven or Bourque isn't ready for NHL role.

They still have 12 NHL forward if those 2 don't make it. Gonna be tough for either of those players to make it.

Potentially a trade for a D is in the cards. Faksa or Marchment for a D-man (those are the most expendable)

Dmen always get too much money in free agency. I think this year being so weak has made it worse.
