Don't really understand why CHI needs to pay (low cost obviously) for an extra 48 hours to negotiate with a 38 year old.

Chicago gets 2 extra days of negotiating with a player they want for basically nothing.

That sums it up perfectly. They did the same with Foligno and were able to sign him, so why not try again?

I wonder if how all these veterans feel about the chance to play with Bedard. Will he bring back their youthful enthusiasm?

I have a hard time believing that Perry has any intention of signing with Chicago.

Guy has been off cup chasing for the last 4 years, even with Bedard, Chicago is no where near competing.

Perry had a no-trade clause, which I assume is still in effect until July 1, so I guess he would have had to waive it for them to be able to make this trade. I don't know why he'd want to go there at this stage in his career, but if my assumption is correct, he must at least be interested in listening to what they have to say.
