Didn't expect Duchene to sign today given he only got bought out yesterday so this came as a surprise.
Massive deal for the Stars, probably the one with the most upside of today's signings.

Good contract but not sure I see the fit right now. Must be another move for Dallas coming?

Top 9 Centers: Hintz, Johnston, Faksa
Top 9 LW: Robertson, Benn, Marchment
Top 9 RW: Pavelski, Seguin, Dadonov, and now Duchene.

Does this mean Faksa gets dealt and Seguin goes back to center?

IMO they will play him at 2RW to help Johnston on faceoffs.

Seguin is the odd man out IMO. His spot is secured only because his contract is full of signing bonus.

Faksa is a 4th line center.

Dude had literally one job and he bottled it. He should have bought Suter out when he had the chance. D is the biggest weakness of Dallas and he is not addressing that issue at all.

As for whether he deserved the award, that's different conversation altogether. Imo he didn't. Frankly, I find it absolutely flabbergasting he won the award. He overpaid for a UFA player (Marchment), traded a first for a player that didn't fit to the lineup, and was in general very conservative in his work.

Just about only good deal he did last season was the Domi trade.

He managed to sign 3 members of our young core to team friendly contracts.
