Miller

Created by: TMLBRIAN
Team: 2023-24 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 10, 2023
Published: Jul. 10, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Detroit can very much use an upgrade to their LD. They have a lot of bottom pair guys. Miller would be a big upgrade and fits their timeline very well. New York get cap space, a replacement D, 3 picks and a promising although small forward prospect.

No thanks. Rather just make the safe bet of at least Wallinder or Johansson being better lol.

I agree and I have a feeling NYR fans aren't going to be as nice about it.

Miller would cost Wallinder/Edvinsson/Kasper type of prospects, not throwaways and middling picks.

Plus, where does Edvinsson slot in? What if Wallinder and Johansson prove to be NHL talents?

If this trade included Waldman then it would make a bit more sense, but the cost is still way higher than that.

Are we supposed to be nice about trading our 2nd best defenseman and replacing him with Oli Maatta? I'm just thinking about how bad I feel for Igor most nights lmao, this only gonna make it worse

Future top 4-
Wallinder-Seider
Edvinsson- ASP

Other LHD in the mix: AJ/Walman/Buium/Bradley

Other RHD in the mix: Gibson/Tuomisto

The defensive future is in the system. Not worth it to throw assets away for redundancy. Not to mention NYR probably keeps Miller and that offer doesn’t cut it.

This trade would set the rangers way back in their win-now mode. KAM is looking like their future 1LD with his size and raw athletic ability

It was a sub par offer for a really good player you can act how ever you want and I have no intension of judging your reaction.

I actually liked it. I’ve been drooling at the thought of a Miller/Seider pairing for the last 2 years and I actually think your trade is decently fair.

I also think having a LHD trio of Miller Edvinsson & Wallinder would probably be the best in the league in 2 years.

I’d be all for it but, we’d need to move Walman AND more importantly Chiarot for something like this to work.

Yeah if you want Miller it's gonna at least take a very high end prospect + a 1st coming back because the Rangers are competing now so they're gonna need a very good reason to get rid of one of their core pieces.

I don't think Yzerman would want to part with those kinds of assets, Wings and Rangers don't seem like compatible trade partners here.
