Pinto would be the only thing of substance. As stupid as he is, Holland doesn't even pick up your call.

I don't think Oilers entertain an offer without Stutzle, Sanderson, or Tkachuk. Quality>Quantity.

There isn't a world in which McDavid gets traded to OTT without Stutzle coming back. No amount of picks or middling assets will change that.

Flyers decline. It’s basically a 1st and a good prospect then you have a mid pick and a player who hasn’t developed at all and was a reach in Boucher

Using his NMC to force a trade to Ottawa to finish 6th in the atlantic. Lol

Also, why say its for 25-26 and then do a 24-25 agm?

Teams are going to offer massive packages for McDavid but doesn't mean they are offering their best, most valueable roster players, especially a cost controlled young C like Stutzle. Something like Norris+ one of Chabot/Chychrun/Sanderson (probably the one that the Sens want the least)+futures is much more realistic.

If they are giving up Stutzle or Tkachuk or both for McDavid, they probably don't have much success and he walks.

Then there's no reason for Edmonton to trade McDavid. It's not an option. It's absolutely ridiculous.

I can assure you that the Oilers, at minimum, receive a top-20 in any unlikely scenario in which he gets traded. He is one of the best players to ever grace the game.

Referencing the fact that Gretzky was traded for relative scraps -- holds no weight. Much different era.

Depends on what the state of their team is at, they won't just walk McDavid to free agency though if he wants out. They probably choose to keep him until his final year or maybe some other team makes an offer that they can't refuse, but again it's not like teams will just be giving their two best players up + a ton of assets for only two guaranteed years of McDavid. Maybe the Sens trade Tkachuk+, but doubt Stutzle is going to be on the table especially with another significant roster player.

I'm not saying he won't receive a top player back, but they aren't going to package both Stutzle+Tkachuk for him or Stutzle+the equivalent of 4+ first rounders.

Never even said that.

All I said is Edmonton doesn't even entertain anything without one of their top-3.

Then why respond to those of us that didn't say that? All I said is there's no trade for McDavid that doesn't include Stutzle because that's the standard I would hold a McDavid trade to. Value-wise, a package around Norris & Sanderson might be able to make the grade, too, but it's not to my tastes.

I honestly don’t think it makes sense for Ottawa to trade Hamonic for only a 6th round pick either.

My mistake, I think I read yours as Stutzle+Sanderson or Tkachuk the second time round when I went to respond.

Reason why I responded to you, SB was because you said it has to be Stutzle which may be true from a preference standpoint. I just wanted to say there are other guys that can be offered for value+function

I'm sure the Oilers would ask for him, but I think Stutzle would be off the table. There might be other players off the table as well but you do got to give to get especially to get the best, but Stutzle would be 22 and signed at a real value contract for another 8 years. If he has another 90+ season, I just don't see it happening. You might be right in that it might prevent them from landing McDavid but it is what it is.

As great as McDavid is, I sure hope my team wouldn't sell the farm to get him.

Norris + Sanderson + futures would hurt the organization way too much

Who can really afford McDavid?

I mean, maybe the Sens could but can't touch Stutzle, Sanderson and Tkachuk

Norris + Chychrun + Pinto/Greig/Kleven + Thomson/Sokolov + 1st + 1st + 2nd

Who is "one of their top-3"? Is it Stutzle, Sanderson and Tkachuk? Because Norris is very close to Tkachuk level

Skill wise, may be close to Tkachuk, but skill ain't gonna get you anywhere if you're injured.

Yeah, I put him last because I'm guessing Ottawa would want to keep him. Chychrun could be undesirable by the Oilers with just a year left especially if he doesn't start staying healthy, so I put him 2nd last. I think Chabot would still be the Sens top D men, so that would hurt but depending on Sanderson's development they may not worry too much. They Oilers would get that a number 1 D which they are missing (maybe Bouchard would be that) and a good 2C assuming Draisaitl is still there.

I do think Ottawa would probably have Stutzle, Sanderson, and Tkachuk as guys they don't want to give up but like I said they would have to give to get (might be more about the value of the best piece in the package rather than overall). I'm pretty positive they wouldn't give Stutzle though unless perhaps it's just him and a couple of futures.

The thing is you almost need 2 top D-men if you want to be a championship caliber team. Even if Bouchard becomes one, adding another one is what the Oilers need to do. If they could get let's say Norris + Chabot + Pinto/Greig + JBD/Kleven for McDavid, then they should do it (assuming McDavid asks for a trade of course)

No idea if they would give up Stutzle but if they did, it would be for a marketing coup with McDavid but at the same time, these moves are too crazy to even discuss it.

Norris obviously missed last whole season so he took a backseat while Brady became an unicorn PPG powerforward

But before that, Norris was a great 2-way center with 0.50 GPG (40 goals per 82 games). He was immensely missed last season
