Personally, i would rather have Aho for another 8 years than Matthews for just 3. Get Matthews for 8 years and maybe its another story.

    WTF is this?

First, no shot Canucks accept this and sign Nylander to that contract

Second, no, Leafs have their budget Karlsson in Klingberg... They don't need Karlsson and especially not for Tavares

Third, You don't trade a top 3 player in the NHL

Fourth, Lilly is worth at least a 1st+

Fifth, it doesn't cost that much to trade Murray, have him sit on LTIR or buy him out

Vancouver blocks your number at the notion of trading Petey

What if Elias Pettersson asked for a trade and won't sign long-term in Vancouver?

Problem with the idea behind this ACGM is that Nylander does want to be in Toronto long term, can't say the same about Pettersson.

You're suggesting trading Matthews because he wants to sign a short term deal. If that's such a problem, why would Carolina trade Aho (who is nearing an 8-year extension) for him?

It's not April 1st which would be the only reason for this nonsensical posts.
    Totally nonsensical sign and trades.
Hard to believe that Tavares would be so unknowlegeable to be frightened by the demotion threat, that his NMC prevents a move to the Marlies.

And also hard to believe that management would even consider said demotion, given that he’d be a 1C on most teams.

If Owttersson is traded, the Canucks will be blown up. They will ask for futures, not an expiring UFA with a huge contract. This is basically Tkachuk for Huberdeau. Calgary ended up looking like a fool afterwards

p.s Tavares can't be sent to the minors. He has a full No Move Clause. Not just a no trade clause. The no move, also mean's he can't be sent down.

    Just FYI smile

To answer your question. If he isn't traded, he plays out this years contract with the Canucks, or retires.
Next June he is a RFA and is able to negotiate with any team.
Canucks may or might trade him, Pettersson may or may not sign an offer sheet. Canucks qualify Petterson and he plays one more year for the Canucks before he is a UFA. Or Pettersson retires.

Auston Matthews is not a top-three player in the NHL... McDavid, Draisaitl, Makar, MacKinnion are all better and neither side would take that AM deals for various reasons

agree on everything but Liljegren. He could get a pick around 30, but not much more.

Sandin is no doubt better bro what. They have similar analytics but Liljegren didnt produce as much.

And again, that first was guaranteed to be like 29-32 lol so my point stands

When he has more than 1 playoff series win then we can revisit this... for all the stats he puts up he doesn't have the success on his resume for me to put him above guys like MacKinnon and Makar
