Flames pass. I don’t want your B prospects if we were to trade Andersson, you’d have to give up something that would really sting

So 2 firsts, a recent first and Mitts who finally is coming into his own is not enough? Get real dude.

Given the time value of money (and draft picks), Ohgren costs more than just one mid to late 1st now. Let's call it a 1st and Kulich for our troubles.

While the value isn’t bad, the Canucks aren’t trading Hronek

Andersson is a 26 year old top pairing right shot defenseman, who’s signed to a sweetheart deal for 3 more years. Why would the Flames trade away their most valuable asset for a couple of okay prospects and picks years in the future that are trending to be late in the first? I would start my ask with one of Kulich/Savoie, your unprotected 2024 1st and then another young roster player like Quinn or Middlestadt. The Flames have no desire to trade Andersson whatsoever, so if you want him be prepared to pay an incredibly painful price

Not wanting to trade him and saying the package proposed is not enough are two completely different things. I get you don't want to move him. I wouldn't if I were you guys. But in retrospect, that offer is more than fair.

Well if that’s the best package you’d offer, then fair enough. I can assure you that you would not get Andersson for that, you’d need to blow the Flames socks off to acquire him

3 1st round calibre assets and a young 50-60 pts center is arguably more than Buffalo got for Jack Eichel. If that doesn’t get Andersson then Buffalo should call someone else and get a younger Rd that fits the team’s core better than Andersson does. Every player is tradable. Wayne Gretzky was traded, and there isn’t a single player in the current game on that level just yet. Mcdavid is closest, but he’s not there yet.

Eichel makes $10m and most importantly had a broken neck, that makes his situation complete unique. I think the offer is a bunch of secondary pieces for a great defenseman on a bargain contact. If you want him be prepared to give up a couple of your top prospects or young roster players, Rosen and some far in the future late 1sts don’t qualify as such

Exactly. I'm so sick on seeing "he's untouchable" on literally EVERY player. Everyone has a price.

While I think it's close to fair value I can't see the Canucks moving Hronek after the price they paid to get him.

That’s a HIDEOUS mischaracterization
Mitts was a top10 pick, & showed well last year (finally healthy) putting up 59pts playing on the 3rd line (mostly)

And Rosen was picked in the mid1st a couple years ago & is progressing nicely

Sorry, but u just don’t know what you’re talking about

That’s fine, as we overpay for him in this deal

Rosen would be a “top prospect” on 90% of teams in the league
He isn’t worse, just bc we are loaded
