He’s old, He is injury prone, a terrible defender, was not a factor for NY, provides more negative value than positive, and it just feels like his name carries more weight than his play does. He is nothing more than a middle six offensive only complimentary piece at this point and those season long painful injuries won’t help him at an advanced stage of his career.

Lots of good pieces in the Canucks deal, but I'd imagine they'd push for at least Edvinsson if you aren't giving up Seider. Replace a couple of those pieces with Edvinsson and you have yourself a competitve offer
