You don't think they would give that up for one of the best goalies in the league?

a 4-year deal for 34 y/o Patrick Kane coming off surgery is actually insane.

No it's not because it's Patrick Kane

The issue will be cap space for next season. Both Petterson and Helleybuck are due to a raise, significant ones.

I hate Petey trades more than anyone else but a package includes a potential ppg top line winger, a future starting goalie (Which the canucks don't need with Demko) and a potential top 6 centre, this may not get it done but it's not an insulting package.

If he’s washed the only sensible place for a washed star player is to go to an even more washed franchise?

Of course he never gets moved, but the whole idea behind this site is "Mock Trades", as long as the trades have equal or close to equal value I have no issue with it. Not everything is going to happen but it's fun for discussion

I hope they would! But given that Hellebuyck is a UFA and currently 30 years old, I don't think they do. He's also from Michigan...I bet he wouldn't mind signing in DET as a Free Agent either.

LMAO....O.K. Besides last season playing through a painful injury, quantify how you think he's washed 92 points in 78 games the prior season on an awful team is washed? LMAO If that was the case, 90% of wingers in the league would be washed.

as soon as you make a trade where its 7 pieces going one way with only 1 piece coming back you know its not realistic lol

Ok he puts up points on a bad team, what else is good at? He’s old, He is injury prone, a terrible defender, was not a factor for NY, provides more negative value than positive, and it just feels like his name carries more weight than his play does. He is nothing more than a middle six offensive only complimentary piece at this point and those season long painful injuries won’t help him at an advanced stage of his career.

I'm assuming you're talking about Chiarot. Seeing as how he's half retained in this trade, I don't see it that way.

Injury prone? He had one injury his entire career and just got it surgically repaired after over a year dealing with! Where else has he been "injury prone"? LMAO

He was injured trying to play through a lot of pain in NY; not sure why you aren't grasping that fact.

Dude, your assessment is way off here. He's still better then 90% of wingers in the NHL, and at $4M there is not one competing team that wouldn't want him on the ice with them.

Jusso as well. Neither are particularly great assets from a contractual standpoint, but neither is likely committing 60 million over ages 31 to 37 for Helly

Lots of good pieces in the Canucks deal, but I'd imagine they'd push for at least Edvinsson if you aren't giving up Seider. Replace a couple of those pieces with Edvinsson and you have yourself a competitve offer
