Description
This is wishful thinking, but not in vein of "get McDavid, Matthews, Makar and watch the NHL burn", rather somewhat realistic prediction...

Reinhart and Forsling are NOT resigned just traded before becoming UFAs...

Breaking down trades:
- for me Girard appears to be the odd man out for Avs, on the other hand Bennett is ideal fit for them as another good center is their biggest issue
- Nurse may be the biggest stretch and guess, dunno if Oilers ever let him go or if Bobrovsky is overpay, Oilers need wall in the net for playoffs though and Bob can deliver that
- Reinhart can play RW and C, so Wild can definitely use him, loss of picks should not bother them as they have ultra deep prospect pool already
- Forsling for pick and high-end prospect, although maybe too high-end, Gus offensively, defensively, physically will surely fit into the Leafs blueline, Niemela is RD which is rare in Cats system
- heard Flyers are greedy, so dunno how many picks for Konecny, but for sure more than only first round

Money do not work, but everyone says cap will go up and Im not accountant so...

Elaborated opinions are appreciated but non-Cats fans should not bother writing this team is a joke or smth like that pls...

Rather have bob and forsling than nurse. He’s horrible forsling seems to b one of the most underrated dman in the league. No knows how good he actually is for us.

Avs might have done that prior to signing RyJo and Colton but with Manson's injury as well they'll probably just ride it out at 2C and see what they get.

Minnesota declines because 1) the cap doesn't work and 2) they're not trading 1sts for rentals

It would also give them about 18 million tied up in goalies.

Nurse is being criminally undervalued and underrated here and on CF in general.

I might be the biggest Girard fan on capfriendly and I’d still heavily consider this

With both Bennet and Mahura coming back it's for sure tempting. If I felt like Colton could emerge into the 2C full-time I'd feel more comfortable. Bennett's ceiling on our team is definitely 3C, and he'd be a darn good one at that. Mahura would provide a reliable bottom pairing guy that we desperately need.

I'm not saying it's not to be (in my case only lightly, definitely not heavily) considered, I just don't think it's a likely deal at present. There's far more to dislike than there is to like in it for me.
