The Chabot trade with Nylander. Nylander was a 40 goal scorer and if repeats is worth his 10 million asking. So will Ottawa be willing to pay that and if so then it would need to be a Nylander, 3rd, for Chabot,kubalik and either a 1st or second.
Sorry, Chabot is not looking like a top pairing potential Norris D anymore to the league. He his still a great defenseman though that can help the Leafs. But the Leafs are giving up a potential 90 scorer and pick for only Chabot? And both are divisional rivals. Treliving will want more guaranteed.

Plus it was reported he was offered a D for Nylander over summer and refused.

And I need to agree with the Washington trade. The caps just traded a 1st for Sandin and Sandin proves to be a decent 2nd pairing for the current and definitely a very good third pairing on a better team. This is the floor the ceiling is still there for the young defensemen. No way they trade a future good dman for just a goalie in Forsberg. North too mention is Sandin plus for forsberg

playoff bound without making moves (signing Pinto is a must), barring injury, only move i could see is clearing some cap space , Joseph and or Kubalik

Not to mention Kuemper and Lindgren were really solid and the least of the Caps problems last year. And our third stringer just won playoff MVP on his way to a Calder Cup and has earned the next look in DC if one of Kuemper or Lindgren goes down. So Forsberg is quite the unneeded commodity.

1. Ottawa needs Chabot more than adding another high profile forward.

2. This is absolutely awful for Ottawa

3. This is really bad for Washington. Sens also need/want to keep Forsberg
